    Mr. Tony,
Well let's place a friendly bet. How long will it take Mr. James and posse to say that this incident points to the need for a spanking new terminal.

Never mind the real scare to travelers. Mr. Tony, these money grubbers will reach high to grab low hanging fruit.

    Bet on?
I bet one business day. You?

    .....in other news,

Israel on Sunday laid claim to nearly 1,000 acres of West Bank land in a Jewish settlement block near Bethlehem defying Palestinian demands for a halt in settlement expansion and challenging world opinion.

    Likud clear on anti-Palestinian agenda
    Saturday, August 30, 2014

With respect to the ongoing conflict between the State of Israel and the people of Palestine there remains the very real question about why Israel did not grab the opportunity earlier this summer to enter into meaningful negotiations with the Palestinian Unity government after Fatah and Hamas made their historic agreement in June to create one voice for all Palestinians.
An essential aspect of this agreement was that this new Unity government announced it would abide by the principles of recognizing the legitimacy of Israel, respecting all existing agreements and seeking a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders. The recognition of the Israeli state has always been the basic demand of Israel to be met before they would agree to negotiate a lasting peace with the Palestinians.
Israel has also always demanded that the Palestinians speak with one voice which was now the case.
It should be noted that both the European Union and the U.S. very much welcomed this development and the governing principles of the new Unity government much to the annoyance of the ruling Likud party in Israel. The door was now open for meaningful negotiations to start the process of moving to a two-state solution to this seemingly intractable conflict. But as we know, no such outcome came about. Why?
Even though it was only a few months ago we seem to have forgotten that the negotiations floundered when Israel refused to not only stop expanding existing settlements but started issuing permits for new settlements on Palestinian lands. The very lands upon which the proposed Palestinian state is to be based.
A land grab illegal under the Geneva Convention, declared illegal by the U.N. and not recognized as legitimate by any country including the U.S. Israel was actively sabotaging the very negotiations which could well have provided them with what they have always claimed they needed from their Arab neighbors — safe and secure borders with peaceful neighbors. Why?
The reason is because the ruling Likud party actually does not want an honorable peace with the Palestinians. The goal of the Likud party is the creation of essentially a greater Israel from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean with no room for Palestinian self determination.
The Charter of the Likud party states, “The government of Israel flatly rejects the establishment of a Palestinian Arab state west of the Jordan River. The Palestinians can run their lives freely in the framework of self-rule, but not as an independent and sovereign state. Thus for example, in matters of foreign affairs, security, immigration and ecology, their activity shall be limited in accordance with imperatives of Israel’s existence, security and national need.”
In other words the Palestinians get to live as subjects of the Israeli state and not as a self-determining sovereign people like the rest of the world population — they are essentially a colonized people.
As for settlements, the Likud party election platform states that “the settlements are a clear expression of unassailable right of Jewish people to the land of Israel. The settlements will continue.”
So, the Palestinians have two choices — neither palatable. Live like docile sheep as a colonized people subject to the whims of the Israeli state or fight for self-determination and get bludgeoned by one of the most powerful and brutal military forces in the world. Hell of a choice — what would you do?
