  1. The fact is that the more people get to vote on this one, the fewer people end up supporting it. These guys can only win when they don't face any opposition.

    Mr. Tony,
Could you tell me dear where I can obtain a vote no sign?

    ReplyDelete
  4. having a confessed slanderer as our biggest cheerleader is the best public relations move possible!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Where can I get a sign? I know others that will want them, too.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Nutter hate light rail and loves bitch slapping Sly.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Sly is about to have 2 losses this August, street car and Sherwood.

    ReplyDelete
  8. What a paradox. I don't know whether to support trains or those damn billboards.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Win win for us 6:32

  10. "TOY TRAIN STREETCAR" is a moronic description. It's a STREETCAR, not a "TOY TRAIN STREETCAR" as ONLY YOU wanna call it.

GIVE IT UP. If you wanna diminish the 'streetcar, call it a "TOY STREETCAR". It's not a train at all and sorry, Tony, you just don't have that much political influence to rename it to something it's not!

No one will ever call it that, but YOU.

Maybe you should give up overused and tiresome words like "TOY TRAIN" and "TKC EXCLUSIVE" and "(Whatever) IS WINNING".

They are now irritating because of your overuse of these tritisms.

BE on the EDGE, not on the BEHIND! bud!

  11. Connect KC (Streetcar Engineering Specialists) are knocking. The one that knocked at our place seemed to be more interested in the 18 year old teen girl our neighbor next door and couldn't even answer any basic questions.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Here to. The guy said I dunno I'm just making some extra cash. Ya voting for the TDD or not?

    ReplyDelete
  13. 6:07; if you want a sign, check grocery stores within the TDD on the 12th & 13th.

    ReplyDelete
  14. 7:12 seems a little out of breath and desperate.
There's no question that the more people learn about this financial fiasco, the less support it has. That's why the original clever plan was to get the camel's nose under the tent with just 375 votes. It's really too bad that tens of millions have already been squandered by the merry little band of transit enthusiasts, urban futurists, and millenial kiddie corps supporters who stampeded the empty-headed electeds into such a harebrained adventure.
You'll end up with the Main Street line, poorly constructed, poorly run, not maintained at all, and with very little ridership. And without any serious dedicated funding, so money will be leeched from the general fund forever.
And bonds of $10-15 million a year will continue as far as the eye can see.
And all the supporters will have found a really neat "Next Big Thing" and have moved on.
    Only the bills will remain.

  15. Where do I get a sign????

    ReplyDelete
  16. Great use of Nutter cash!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Does anyone know if those trains have a lot of copper in them? ...just checking

    ReplyDelete
  18. They will at first.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Toddler Russ Johnson is throwing a tantrum right now because the Taxpayers are going to take away his credit card. "Whaaaa!! Where's my binky? Call big daddy James!! whaaaa!!"

    ReplyDelete
  20. This Toy Train Streetcar is really a joke. Now it has been revealed that there is a $15,000,000.00 shortfall. That means that the proponents can't add or they didn't want anyone to know that until after the vote. NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! TOY TRAIN STREETCAR!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I heard that the opposition is starting to get campaign checks. Slow but sure. Send yours into Smart KC.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Toy train toy train toy train!! Stop the fucking toy train!!!!!! (Toy train)

    (Toy train again)

  23. www.besmartkc.com is the website to donate. Donate $25-$50 bucks now to make sure you aren't fucked out of thousands of dollars later by this hare-brained streetcar scheme.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Vote no on the 3/4 cents State sales tax too. KC has made a deal to use it for the toy train.
Renew 1/4 cent Fire tax. No on everything else.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Voting no may be the right thing to do, but I wouldn't send opposition any money. A billboard on I-70?? That's a total waste of campaign money. They're paying for truckers between St. Louis and Denver and beyond. You would think they would know enough to advertise to voters in the urban core, where it will be on the ballot.

    ReplyDelete
  26. VOTE NO ! And a big NO on the 1/4 Fire tax!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Fire tax is the biggest sham of all

    ReplyDelete
  28. Just VOTE No!

    ReplyDelete
  29. not a member of the sly team7/10/14, 10:26 PM

I do not like the Toy Train Tax.
I do not like it in a glass. I do not like it after Mass. I do not like it up my ass.
No, I do not like the TOY TRAIN TAX.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Vote NO on every new tax. The government has more than enough of our tax money, and it needs to spend within its means.

Hear that, tax and spend sly James, and your foolish Entourage?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Vote NO - that's right a big NO by the people - on any new or renewed taxes until they show us they can spend what they already get wisely. That means on basic services and repairing/upgrading existing infrastructure.

    ReplyDelete
  32. 10:47 FTW !

    ReplyDelete
  33. Remember the e tax of 1% and the Combat tax that no one will audit. Chip chip away at our hard earned dollars. Enough is enough. Vote NO

    ReplyDelete
  34. Name it the Bernie Madoff Streetcar System

    ReplyDelete
  35. If it passes, I will most definitely STFU.

    Right.

    ReplyDelete
  36. It's not about the toy train it's about the fucking political ripoff. Shame on them all.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Radioman, why don't you just email Tony your words of wisdom?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Along I-70? Does anyone against the train have any idea?

The people on the eastside that would be most interested in more bus service instead do not take I-70 to work.

    They take the bus.

    ReplyDelete
  39. 10:26 PM +100!!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Sane people will vote "no."

    ReplyDelete
  41. Sounds like the TOY TRAIN STREET CAR is going up in flames. Is Markuson in charge of the hot dogs? Time to cook them on the TOY TRAIN FIRE. Oh I'm sorry she makes the potato salad.
Is Russ the bully boy watching the fire? Hope he isn't standing too close so the rivets in his levis brand him.

    ReplyDelete
  42. 7:26 may have one of the best posts made since this whole toy train mess started. And sorry Binky Boi, a toy train is exactly what it is ... sort of like the Trolley on Mr. Rogers Neighborhood that took him to visit the puppets in Fantasyland. Ding! Ding! It's the same place KC's pocket of wannabe urbanites think it will take them, when in reality it will only take the taxpayers to the poor house.
Politically incorrect as it may be, my granddad used to use a term Ni--er rich to describe people whose shacks were falling down, but had a new Cadillac in the driveway. That's KCMO to a tee. Schools, public services and infrastructure is in are in the toilet, so the best use of millions and millions of dollars is a trolley car that goes a few blocks in a city that has always been, and always will be, dominated by cars.

    ReplyDelete
  43. 10:26, Damn the opposition if they don't use your poem for their official slogan!!! ROFLMAO!!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. 5:00: Excellent post. I'm surprised Mensa boy has not responded with his usual accusations that the streetcar opponents all live in Leawood and are being paid for by Rex Sinquefield.

That's so much easier than defending the toy train because he needs a job after he's termed out next year.
