"Mayor Sly "Having a school with an International Baccalaureate and international language program contributes to my vision of Kansas City" Any of these folks ever heard of Lincoln College Prep. Lafayette just teaches French. It had less than 50 8th graders in 2013. It costs about 5-10k to train an IB teacher. To run a full IB program, that is going to cost more than you think. In addition to all the other IB fees and dues every year(another 100k). The better solution would be to hire 2 French teachers and send them to LCPA. If LCPA is full, re-open LCPA middle. This is a scam to get KCPS to pay for all of this training and provide a building."
We checked with a couple of people on this statement and it not only seems to ring true but also provides insight into the not-so-drastic changes happening @ The KCPS.

ReplyDeleteThe rape happened months ago, and don't worry, there were plenty of racist comments to go around at that time. The article is about the City's attempt to fix the problem, not the rape, and there's probably not many comments because we all know that by the time anything is settled, it won't look anything like the current plan being discussed.
For justice to prevail..The rapist needs to have his ass beat with a whip in public until he passes out.

ReplyDeleteI teach IB classes. It does cost a couple thousand to train.teachers, but the education the kids and teachers get is incredible. And those numbers he is spewing are incredibly inaccurate, asinine, and inflammatory. I sincerely hope they go through with this. KC and Brookside need this...
