THE TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! COUNCILMAN JOHN SHARP STAYS WINNING BATTLE AGAINST MAYOR SLY?!?!

Tonight let's consider an open question and think about how an upcoming election is playing out behind the scenes . . .

To wit . . .

THE KANSAS CITY INSIDER BEHIND THE SCENES BATTLE BETWIXT COUNCILMAN SHARP AND MAYOR SLY NOW MOVES TOWARD ELECTION D-DAY!!! WHO DO YOU THINK IS WINNING?!?!

Just a few facts for consideration . . .

- Kansas City Mayor Sly has raised taxes a great many times on this town by virtue of his overwhelming popularity. Battling Councilman Sharp on KCFD outsourcing and the airport has taken its toll that public image.

- Don't get it twisted . . . Councilman Sharp has his detractors as well and it seems like they are stepping up their game.

- Councilman Sharp's opposition has galvanized an urban core, union and community activist uprising or at least started open opposition against Mayor Sly's corporate tax and takeover agenda ... Until now, these groups didn't have an active voice on council.

But ultimately . . .

IT'S UP TO YOU TO DECIDE KANSAS CITY: IS MAYOR SLY OR COUNCILMAN JOHN SHARP WINNING THIS BATTLE OVER UNION/COMMUNITY VS. CORPORATE CONTROL OF CITY HALL?!?!?

Insiders told us that Councilman Sharp wasn't going to quietly bow down to Sly's agenda and it seems they were not only right on the money but also mindful of how this contest could play out @ the polls.

And all of this has inspired out playlist for tonight . . .

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night.

  1. It's a tax fight TKC. That's the fight first and foremost and despite what republicans might say, on the corporate side they want to squeeze all the subsidizes they can out of taxpayers and that's really what this Aug. election is about TKC. You heard hit here first.

  2. Sharp is owned by Burns & Mac and Cerner. Ask Hickman Mills School District Sharp sold them out. Cerner is back asking for more TIF, Sharp was the most vocal for giving more TIF to Cerner.

  3. They want to ream citizens for every buck they can rip off of us. That's the bottom line. Big corporate welfare.

  4. Remember when they destroyed the neighborhood of Westport and slapped up the Condo's Apartments a few decades ago?

  9. Sharp has is place, he does a good job in some respects. But TKC, you know that he brought the no felon check ordinance to the hall and that was one of the worst moves from last year. Don't you forget it!

  10. Sub Prime Toy Train

Watch out when this bubble blows.

  11. S'LIE said we're catching up to the rest of the world with the toy train because he read a report saying toy trains are the reason their is development in the June 26 business session.

Your going to have to live with the results of this guys thinking CK.

    Think hard now.

  12. Most cities are able to isolate streetcar opposition as "Tea Party" republicans, but the fact is that the power players behind this scheme, regardless of party affiliation, understand that the only customer better than the one who voluntarily buys your quality product is the one who is forced to buy your product whether it's quality or not.

Anyone who knows anything about public transit can see that zero effort was put into improving transit with this streetcar plan; this is all about "economic development" which actually means making the 1% wealthier with tax payer cash.

  13. August 5 is the going to be the CK Voter intelligence test.

  17. Here's the key. Ride the bubble and sell just before it blows. Relocate out of jackass county and your set.

Timing is critical when the greater fool theory is in full swing.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Only problem is there are so many houses with for sale signs up here in CKMO with a mass exodus warming up it may be tough to get market rate if no one wants to buy. So you'll become a CK absentee landlord or slumlord. Good luck.

  21. Probably need observers at the polls because it is a proven fact the toy train cabal will lie and do whatever it takes to double cross the public and get what they want.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Good debate! This is what I like to see in KC -- intelligent people having a lively and intelligent conversation about local politics.

I believe Sly's.best days are behind him!

  27. Sly vs. Sharp is like Oakland vs. Denver, Iran vs. Iraq, Alabama vs. Auburn. Who cares?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Good analogy, but i don't have to live in all those other places. However, I am living in this city where these two jokers can't seem to get their heads together and do what's best for the city.

  31. John Sharpe is a liar and a hypocrite and should be brought up on ethics violations. I have been watching the debates on the outsourcing of KCFD EMS Billing. I used to work there when he was in charge of MAST. He has been trashing this company for having a patient information breech. I have heard him tell committees and full city council several times now, this has never happened with KC doing their own billing.
That is a lie. When he was in charge there were two employees caught selling patient information. His answer fire ONE of them, and sweep the whole thing under the rug. The company he is trashing, at least they reported it and sent their employee to prison. John Sharpe is an asshole, liar and hypocrite. Wonder what else he is hiding? Why is he so adamant about keeping the billing office? It costs the city too much to do it themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Fire Fighter Union employees, wake up and quit signing the petition to keep the billing office. Don't you get it? If they keep it, that is an additional 1.5 million they will take out of your funds to pay for it. Idiots....don't you ever think? Or are you truly blind sheeple?
