SNAP REAX TO KANSAS CITY CATHOLIC EPIC $1.1 MILLION PAYOUT DECISION!!!

Last night, some of the VERY BEST TKC READERS direct our attention to an important development in the ongoing Kansas City Catholic Priest Sex Abuse Scandal.

Now . . .

CHECK OUT THE STATEMENT ON THE EPIC DECISION FROM SNAP!!!

Here's what the Survivor's Network of those Abused by Priests wanted noted in their statement . . .

MO--In “1st-ever” clergy "contract breach" suit, arbitrator awards $1.1 million

Money quote:

"In an unprecedented case, the only one like it (we believe) in the country, an arbitrator has ordered a controversial Missouri bishop to pay $1.1 million to 42 victims of clergy sex crimes because he broke his pledges to improve how he deals with abuse cases. It's a "breach of contract" case.

"The disclosure came, perhaps accidently, on Friday (June 20) in a virtually-unnoticed unsealed court filing by lawyers for Kansas City Bishop Robert Finn, who wants the award nullified.

"As best we can tell, there's never been a case like this in which victims have successfully held a bishop responsible in court for breaking the promises he made during a settlement. And the amount of this award is significant because it may will deter more Catholic officials from breaking the promises they make to victims."

And so the price of redemption increases in Kansas City along with the knowledge of where those donations are going . . .

  1. You will never convince me sex abuse is a monster p[problem in the CATHOLIC Church and I am not Catholic. This sex abuse think has become a farce nation wide. It seems you need a court order before anyone can drop their pants

  2. What's most amazing is that there are still Catholics going to mass and putting money in the collection basket every Sunday. And confessing their sins to Father Pervo and Father Pederast.

  3. Thank God that Finn wasn't a party to any of this! What? He what? Seriously? I thought he was taking trombone lessons just because he just liked vibrating his lips!

  9. On one side you have Fin and the administrators shelling out millions and millions. On the other side you have all of the young Catholic business geniuses with their PayDay Loan Scams. Seems to me like everyone in the church is raping someone else.

Can someone please tell Bishop Fin the parable about Karen Pletz and how to get out of trouble

  10. AS a part of his 2008 conviction for failing to report priest abuse of minors, Finn agreed to several conditions for the future. Now he is found to have ignored three of those conditions, including a promise to "promptly report" suspected priest abuse. This resulted in in a prior KNOWN abuser/ priest reoffending, by taking hundreds of surreptitious, lewd photos of female children -sometimes under the the dinner table as unsuspecting families invited him into their homes. In once case, he went into a child's own bedroom while she slept and pulled her gown up and her panties down in order to take close-up pictures of her genitalia. The details are disgusting, and "Father" Ratigan's images were proven in court to be be child pornography as defined by law. He was caught not by the church, but by a computer technician to whom he took his computer for repair. Yet Finn played the same old "mea culpa game" with no intent to abide by his agreement. Said he was profoundly sorry, and then turned around and repeated the same old cover-up/shield/transfer routine with this former priest - who is now in prison doing 50 years. Finn got off with a misdemeanor (after spending over a million dollars of his flock's donations on a high-priced legal defense) Now the bishop himself has reoffended and it will cost the Catholics of Kansas City another million dollars in penalties, and untold more in the appeals sure to come. This, of course, is on top of the millions of dollars they have already paid to settle other priest abuse cases in the past ten years during his watch. This man is an immoral, mollycoddled pervert who believes he is above the law. Wake the f*** up, Catholics of KC. This man is not a shepherd, he is a lying, despicable excuse for a human being. Every penny you put in the collection box this Sunday means that you accept this behavior and agree to pay for it. If clerics like Finn and his ilk don't totally ruin this church, Catholics who keep silent surely will.
