SHOCK!!! PASTOR CLAIMS GOD HATES THE KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR!!!

Okay, this bit of Midtown Kansas City pushback for the toy train streetcar might not be as dramatic as the post title indicates BUT eco-devo for the po'folk who rely on the good graces of the Church will be hard to argue.

Check it:

KMBC: Pastor questions potential burden of streetcar tax on poor

Deets:

"Most property owners within a third of a mile of the streetcar line pay a property tax surcharge, which would include the Redemptorist parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

"I just think it's going to be huge burden upon the back of these people," said the Rev. Brian Johnson. "A very regressive thing."

"Johnson put an article in Sunday's church bulletin about the assessment, wondering if it could be further burden on his low-income parishioners."

Meanwhile, Kansas City denizens are asked to put their faith in City Hall eco-devo schemes that also promised big bucks in the P&L District and a major league pro-sports team @ The Sprint Center.

  2. Glorioso is such a whore. Hell the City has streets and sewers all over the place falling apart, and I do not see the City making anyone fix them. What an idiot. And where are your tax dollars at work? If you can vote(not a felon)Vote No and NO and also NO.

  3. As much of a whore as Glorioso is, it's the empty-headed bozos at city hall who have allowed themselves to be stampeded into this faisco and financial disaster for the entire city by the snake oil being sold all around the country by the urban futurists and associated contractors and salesmen who score big-time every time another city takes the bait.
Glorioso is no worse than the rest of the hangers-on down at 12th and Oak who couldn't care less about the health of KCMO or its residents as long as ther are endless paydays for them.
And as long as KCMO residents elect the same kinds of people, their empty heads will continue to be filled by the endless lines of favor-seekers on the 22nd and 29th floors.
Hotels, soccer fields, arts programs, tech support contracts, streetcars...the list is almost endless and pretty much NEVER includes any services that the residents actually want and need.
The best little whorehouse in the midwest.
    Makes you proud!

  5. If the Tax Discrimination District passes I'll buy Glorioso and the rest of them a beer cause they will have earned it. This thing is dead, dead, dead! Vote NO on the TDD.

  6. Why won't the Pastor come out against the MoDOT tax, the income tax, the 1% sales tax, or any other tax that affects his congregation? NOthing is worse than someone being self serving in the name of the Lord.

  7. God hates John Miles, the Baptist, too.

  8. What property tax? You have to own property to pay property tax. Just like them bitching about an income tax. When you don't have and income, other than welfare, you don't pay income tax.

  9. Jesus didn't ride no train. He rode dinosaurs.

  10. Wonder if good Catholics like Dan Coffey and Pat Touhey think everybody in the Archdiocese should get to vote on Rev. Johnson's parish expenditures, regardless of weather or not they are parishioners there? Wonder if the parish spends any money on robes and vestments that it could spend on more necessary basic needs, as defined by Mike Bushnell and Bryan Stadler. I wonder if Sherry DeJanes owns a building partially built on Church property so she can get involved in the affairs of a church she doesn't belong to and spread a bunch of lies to all her neighbors abot how the Church will endanger children playin and make too much noise and steal people ability to jog? Maybe then she'll claim to speak for black Baptism and AME congregations as well. They can claim that the tithe will "steal money from the holy water fountain". Maybe Rex Sinquefeild can fund a campaign to Save the Holy Water campaign. Then people can claim that if you pay for prayer candles it prevents you from having money to pay for holy water. And other people can claim prayer candles will just lead to black people coming to the church, and that only hipsters and renters like candles.

  12. what would jesus do?

well from what I've read jesus hung out with some rough types and was an enemy of the kingdom, so most likely jesus would comment on TKC.

False idols, false prophets and whores all of you....

  14. Don't worry little wog. The Gentrification process won't hurt a bit. The best place to die is on a sidewalk east of Hwy 71. But one day the 6k Run will come block off the streets across Hwy 71 and crime and murder will rise again so we can buy your property for pennies on the dollar. It's all part of the circle of life little wog.

  15. The Toy Train is the answer! Millions of dollars generated (taxes). People will have nice transportation without taking the Metro bus (maybe that's a few less bus drivers) I don't actually know anyone who would ride it- but think of it as a moral victory for the city government- maybe the first- or only- they will need this momentum to build the airport no one wants. They will need this to pass other taxes - like the 2% earnings tax increase that will be needed soon and no one is talking about that increase yet- I look forward to free trash bags for a few years to help pass the 2% earnings tax increase that will help pay for other stuff like:
1- New City owned solar car
    2- private diamond studded walkways
    3- privatization of kc school
    4- takeover of utilities
5- hiring new promo staff for other initiatives

Should be exciting as we head to the year 2020.

  20. Wrong NIGGERS will run down the property, abandon it and then uppity Blacks will champion development so as they can make money off the backs of other Blacks using taxpayer dollars because no company in their right mind will invest in these neighborhood. Too fucking lazy to get a real job. Sees opportunity by leaching onto other Blacks. Then the destruction moves to the suburbs. That's the cycle of poverty.

  23. The multi partisan arm - Liberals, Dems, Independents, The Business and Political Savvy - - "other" - has already done their job.

That's why they we're drawn out of the original proposed TDD. So they can't vote on it, etc.

Waking up the remaining "walking dead" is the only remaining task.

  24. I am undecided on the streetcar.

That said, I have never seen a more hateful, bigoted group.

You all actually think you are influencing anybody other than the 2 dozen others that frequent this blog?
