ReplyDeleteThis was a fucked up deal to begin with. The KCPD weren't able to apprehend Mr. O'Kelly at the scene, and the witnesses were unable to pick him out of a lineup. His DNA was not on the truck airbags (somehow) and he hired a very expensive attorney who is very pro legalization of drugs. Mr. O'Kelly's father is a big person in the drug scene here, and both he and his son (when aged 16) were involved in a case of drug smuggling that wound up in the KS Supreme Court over illegal search and seizure (they won). This was not about justice, but about money. Buddy Bronson and his family have no money. Unfortunate about how this works. I hope to meet Mr. O'Kelly in person some day. He won't know me, but I will know him.

To the robe that handed down this sentence. Follow the money. There had to have been a transfer of money to get a sentence like that. Justice in Jackson is bought and paid. Wonder if the defendant was "WHITE"?
