KANSAS CITY WORLD WAR I FACT CHECK

Today marks 100 years since the star of World War I.

Kansas City is home to the best WWI memorial in the nation, that loses money every year, and lately the legacy of the so-called "Great War" has been twisted to fit current propaganda needs.

So far, this is the best thing I've read about the Anniversary of WWI:

The Atlantic: A Sad, Pointless War - A century on, we're still paying the price for World War I.

Now . . .

HERE'S OUR TKC FACT CHECK ON WWI SO THAT KANSAS CITY D-BAGS DON'T TURN TODAY INTO YET ANOTHER PROPAGANDA CELEBRATION FOR DRONE STRIKES AGAINST CHILDREN!!!

1. Everybody who died in WWI died for NOTHING. The Kaiser wasn't coming to take our cheese. This was a war that was fought for no good reason. If WWI served any real purpose it was MAYBE to remind us all that the people in charge don't know what they're doing either.

2. There are many parallels to modern day conflict but most of them are overwrought ... The main point for po'folk is to avoid getting caught up in the bad decision of the ruling class and the empty ideology they use to trick the populace. Patriotism is a wonderful thing . . . For the living.

3. I've still yet to find anybody who claims to completely understand WHY WWI was fought . . . There's a lot of HOW and explanation of context . . . Sometimes things just go horribly wrong and millions of people die for reasons that nobody understands in much the same way that nobody can explain the popularity of Paris Hilton or the Kardashians.

And all of this is prologue to our most important fact . . .

LET'S NOT FORGET THAT LIBERTY MEMORIAL IS A MONUMENT TO FAILURE!!!

WWI WAS SUPPOSED TO "THE WAR TO END ALL WARS" BUT THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN AND COUNTLESS MILLIONS SINCE THEN HAVE BEEN SLAUGHTERED IN MILITARY CONFLICT THAT THEY ALSO DIDN'T COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND!!!

Our fave WWI tune: Willie McBride Green Fields Of France

Again, all that pomp and circumstance and militaristic bravado that has been surrounding WWI as of late is really misplaced. Liberty memorial is a tomb build to honor the legacy of war that proved nothing less than the fact that sometimes, like it or not, patriotism, loyalty and national pride can be misplaced, misused and manipulated into a horrific outcome.

I understand where you are coming from, but that war, in which my grandfather was machined gunned in the guts and mustard gassed was for fuckin nothing.

    NOTHING!

It was a fantasy and a trick of fame that brought our grandfathers to this death.

The Liberty Memorial is a fabulous place to go and visit. It speaks of our folly and ignorance and the courage of the common man, not the nobility of the cause.

  4. The most important things most wars accomplish usually are unintended consequences nobody dreamed of in advance.

Every unfortunate in the Middle East needs to say a big thank you to Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld just before he is crucified or his head is chopped off by the greatest creation to date of the U.S. Republican party, a grass-roots entrepreneurial organization known as the Islamic State. They are giving the "Red state" concept a blood-soaked new meaning as the corpses pile up all over Iraq and Syria.

Bush Cheney are guilty as hell, but the borders drawn after teh first World War in combinaiton with a Stone Age culture imbued witha religion founded by a sick pederast, steeped in tribal conflict that to this day, determines alliances is the real problem.

It won't, it can't be fixed. These zealots are nuts and the ONLY thing they understand is violence and superior fire power. Yesterday on the Mclaughlin Group, Elenor said you "Can't kill your way to victory" in this never ending strife. Actually, she is dead wrong. You can and the west should "KIll" it's way to victory, or continute to suffer the ongoing war that has not, is not and will not ever end.

  9. WWI was fought so that Kansas City could have a phallic symbol that costs taxpayers a lot of money to maintain.

  10. We can all say that any war was fought for no good reason. However, as long as both libtards and reflublicans are voting for them we are going to war. Now! Make it so that the American tax payers have to affirm any war action within 90 days of sending troops and the dumb fucks will still vote for war.

  12. Kudos to TKC for this post!!!!
I especially enjoy the blogger's opinions as to the futility of war. Please post more content similar to this one.

It should come as no surprise that America's history of warfare is primarily about MONEY!

The wealthy controlling interests of the United States use war to grow evermore prosperous and consolidate their grip of power of the government of our country.

Please see the following blog for some ideas as to the truth concerning the origination of WWI:

  13. I heard that a wrong turn started the war.

  14. @1:39 Indeed that was true.

As far as what brought us into the war, you can be sure of only one thing: Everything we were told at the time and everything we have been taught since was and is a load of crap.
