Kansas City VML Inks $60 MIL Tourism Advert Deal And Opens Tennessee Office

Tennessee.com reports a local Mad Men firm chasing big biz nationwide: "Tennessee officials have signed a five-year, $60 million contract with a Kansas City, Missouri firm to produce the “Made in Tennessee” tourism campaign."

"The marketing agency VML, which has opened a Nashville office
, produced two 30-second TV commercials promoting getting outdoors in Tennessee. The ads feature with dramatic waterfalls, green rolling hills and horseback-riding amid a forest scene. The ads will play in about a dozen markets around the country."

  9. I dated someone who works for VML. He wasn't a nice guy. From what I have heard, he still isn't. I wish things were better for him. I am so glad I am not around him. I feel kind of sorry for him because he can't work anywhere else, or thats what people that work there say. He was never a happy person. I know he doesn't make as much money as he probably needs too. I know that the people that work there make very little money. I am glad we aren't together because I make more than him. I suppose VML is like a place you can't leave and they pay you enough to get by, but not enough to really do anything? I feel kind of sorry for the people that work there because other places are better. I just don't think I could stand the kind of yelling and brow-beating this guy dished out on a weekly basis. He would have his monthly rage fit too, which was wearing. If anyone is considering dating anyone who is working at VML, JUST DON'T DO IT. The place appears to be a pit of misery dressed up as a fun place to work. Don't expect a good time or anything other than low-cost meals out. Just don't date them, there is no future. You will get old. You can't get old with people from VML because it isn't the kind of place people stay at unless they suck. Sorry to say this and stereotype, but pity the over 30's at VML. They will soon be too old to work there anyway. No future. Run, far far away..or help them get another job.

  11. The VML leadership all live in JoCo and give very little back to KC. Generally they are greedy fucks who claim they are supporters of their community.

  13. Once I left the agency business and experienced life on the client side I realized that agencies are on the same level as printers, maintenance workers and the company who runs the corporate cafeteria. Agencies are vendors just like anyone else. You quit doing work with one and another comes over the hill. Glad I am out. I hope Jon Cook has saved some of the money Matt has paid him over the years. Some day he will need it.
