Kansas City Broadway Jazz Club Hosts The 12th Street Jump Return To Radio

A Kansas City radio classic returned to Midtown Kansas City this evening with a bit of political star power . . .

THE 12TH STREET JUMP KICKED BACK INTO FULL GEAR @ THE BROADWAY JAZZ CLUB TONIGHT!!!

The notice that caught our attention . . .

Broadway Jazz Club seyz: "We welcome back 12th Street Jump! 120 stations nationwide will broadcast this live recording filled with comedy, jazz, and fun. Don't miss out being a part of history from 7:30-9 Wednesday evening. We will be celebrating the music of Louis Jordan with special guests Victor & Penny."

Moreover, Mayor Sly was in the crowd live-tweeting the event . . .

Both the show and the jazz club have shared a bit of trouble this year . . . The 12th Street jump has sputtered a bit but now seems to be hititng their stride and Broadway Jazz Club has had to deal with all of the robberies and crime that come with doing biz in Midtown Kansas City.

Still, the local musical celebration seems to be moving along nicely as The Broadway Jazz Club replaces Jardine's as the premiere local jazz joint for this town's 2 dozen last remaining enthusiasts of this kind of music.

Hopefully, more in a bit . . . STAY TUNED!!!

  1. They had a really great show last week. The crew are trying to focus more on the music and less on the commentary and comedy aspect of the show, I think it's a wise decision and certainly makes for better listening.

  10. I would leave if I saw Sly there. No jazz is good enough to share a room with that sleaze.
