1ST AMENDMENT CELEBRATION TONIGHT: TKC BLOG COMMUNITY REMAINS THE LAST KANSAS CITY FREE SPEECH ZONE!!!
Tonight let's take a look at a reaction to a recent post and our often harsh Kansas City blog community of freedom fighters.
However, the more I think about it, the more I think this is probably the most important thing I do, other than X-box. . .
LIKE IT OR NOT, OUR TKC BLOG COMMUNITY IS THE LAST FREE SPEECH ZONE IN KANSAS CITY!!!
No, I didn't delete your dumbass comment unless it was SPAM. No, threats against ANYBODY doesn't count as Free Speech . . . But for the most part . . . This blog offers MORE COMMENT FREEDOM THAN ANY OTHER DIGITAL SPACE IN KANSAS CITY . . .
We don't care about your stupid IP Address or party affiliation . . . The more we learn about politics, it's clear both parties are pretty much compriseD of nothing more than ripoff artists . . .
Nowadays, most of our "agenda" has to do with hotties and debunking so much civic propaganda with a few stupid dick jokes thrown in just for good times.
It's not at all profitable but still PRETTY DAMN FUN.
Sadly, this "PROCESS" isn't without its challenges . . .
Accordingly . . .
CHECK THIS HEARTFELT AND VERY SINCERE NOTE URGING A STOP TO OUR KANSAS CITY FREE SPEECH ZONE IN THE NAME OF LGBT TOLERANCE!!!
We may not agree but we respect this very compassionate opinion . . .Here's an e-mail that got us thinking:
"debi jackson post - please turn the commenting off"
"these comments on your post are horrible. terrifying really. i know these dont necessarily represent your view but im shocked. you have a platform, these people listen to you or at least cant comment if you turn the comments off. that itself would speak wonders. i cant believe these people exist. such hate filled people. makes me so sad. can you please turn the comments off so they don't have a platform to spread their hate? im speechless.... but you have a voice and are able to stop this. for our children, please. kansas city is better then this . . ."
Sadly, we must decline because TALKING/TYPING about an issue from EVERY POSSIBLE ANGLE is what this blog is all about . . .
A rather BRILLIANT TKC READER put it much better than I ever could . . .
"I really enjoy reading your blog and the comments others write. I am glad you do not edit the comments. Some speak to the frustrations and discontent of men (I just assume that most are men, could be wrong) who appear to feel powerless and angry. It is really an interesting look at a group of people who finally have a forum to say whatever outrageous thing they want without consequence. They must put outrageous comments down which they think are the most socially unacceptable to get a rise out of others and they get a sense of power or satisfaction from the ability to do so. It is really interesting. I suspect the ability to comment is very freeing and empowering to them and that, generally, they feel emasculated in society. I may be wrong, but, being able to comment as they do may be a big psychological benefit for them, since they are anonymous and they won't get chastised in real life.
Your blog is so interesting. You provoke important dialogue. And in another way, perhaps help the disconnected or marginalized people who can unleash anger that they may direct at themselves or others in a nonviolent way. The ability to comment anonymously is probably cathartic to them and I suspect they are looking for a safe outlet."
And this is where people who don't really appreciate free speech and the 1st Amendment talk about responsibility and ownership of comments . . . To that we humbly retort . . .
Like it or not, recognize that anonymous comments are part of it just like the secret ballot which is the foundation of our American Democracy.
And so, the simple of act reading and participating our bloggy community means that TKC DENIZENS AREN'T JUST LEARNING ABOUT KANSAS CITY AND CELEBRATING HOTTIES . . . OUR TKC BLOG COMMUNITY IS DOING NOTHING LESS THAN DEFENDING THE REPUBLIC . . . Also, I'm still waiting for any chubby 30/40-something broads to send some nude pix or at least a twerking video that we can all celebrate.
And this is the state of the blog tonight.
May God bless the United States of America, this basement battle-station and all of the Chinese slave-labor manufactured hardware that makes the Internets work.
