TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY INSIDERS: MAYOR SLY POPULARITY SLIPPING!!!

Here's a quick and dirty summary of more than a few conversations with Kansas City Insiders who are having second thoughts about Mayor Sly's "charisma" that supposedly makes him invincible.

To wit . . .

KANSAS CITY INSIDERS CONTEND: MAYOR SLY JAMES ISN'T AS POPULAR AS HE USED TO BE AND HE COULD VERY WELL LOSE THE NEXT ELECTION!!!

Current opposition . . .

- Conservatives and Low-Tax advocates don't seem to find Mayor Sly that charming . . . Opposition for yet another round of Kansas City taxes proves as much.

- Brookside and Waldo may not stand by Mayor Sly given that he was DEFEATED in this enclave in a brawl over the Toy Train streetcar.

- The East Side . . . Luke warm support here @ best for a Mayor whose agenda is mostly eco-devo work for Downtown and corporate buddies. Remember that Former Councilman Alvin Brooks assumed he'd get East Side votes but the electorate simply was uninspired to go out and rally for the local legend.

- The Northland . . . Like it or not, The new airport fight has turned a great many people across the bridge against the Mayor.

- The Firefighters . . . This is likely the most important group of the bunch. Make no mistake, station closings and outsourcing have soured KCFD rank & file against Mayor Sly and that move in and of itself might draw MORE opponents . . .

Hopefully, for the morning, we'll have a bit more insight into how election season is already shaping up . . .

Developing . . .

  1. Maybe now he might not dance so much.

  3. Kind of liked him at first but it didn't last long. I'd like to see the city council get the boot also since they are all sycophants and enabling this guys boondoggles to continue.

  4. Hard for a honkie to win a election when most of the voters swing from tree to tree in the jungle.

    ReplyDelete
  5. OMG. You are going to turn Mensa boy crazy. And as Bullwinkle would say, "In his case that's more like a slight veer."

    ReplyDelete
  6. This mayor losing friends faster than Glazer does hookers.

  7. One termer

  8. Great. A post backed by ABSOLUTELY NOTHING speculating what MIGHT happen.

HE COULD VERY WELL LOSE THE NEXT ELECTION!!!

From the same guy who told us Mike Burke was a shoo-in to be the next mayor.

    - Conservatives and Low-Tax advocates don't seem to find Mayor Sly that charming . . . Opposition for yet another round of Kansas City taxes proves as much.

This observation paid for by Patsy Touhey and the Koch Brothers, whose posts have mysteriously disappeared from TKC of late.

The Northland . . . Like it or not, The new airport fight has turned a great many people across the bridge against the Mayor.

What fucking difference would a new airport make to people who live up there? It's not like they're going to build a second one, or the flights will be buzzing lower all of a sudden.

    So...

MUST READ!!! WITHOUT CREDIBILITY, MY POLITICAL POSTS MAKE NO FUCKING SENSE ANYMORE!!! NOT EVEN STRETCH ARMSTRONG CAN MAKE THIS MUCH OF A STRETCH!!!

  9. The Fire Dept and its union along with Bill George run this city, so if they don't like Sly they will find a replacement its that simple. The Fire dept is Democrat their union requires them to vote that way, on the other hand I am sure Bill George is a Republican so I guess the common denominator isnt the party, its the greed, and the money!!!

  10. 6:32 I AGREE!! We need a fresh city council in this town, we need to get rid of the OLD ass people and put young people with fresh ideas who have better visions for this city than the stuck in their old ways government has. The current council is stale its time to get some young people in here who understand that if change doesnt happen soon....well what you have seen all these years in KC, is all Kansas City is ever going to get.

We need aggressive leaders that will take crime seriously, we need aggressive leaders who LISTEN to the citizens and work for them after they promised too while trying to get elected but once they got elected became deaf as hell. This city needs some new blood to pump some life in this dying crap hole of a shity!!

  12. Whether anyone runs against Sly or even wins, KCMO will find itself burdened with tremendous worthless debt for decades by the decisions that James and the gang have already committed the taxpayers to.
The streetcar toothpaste isn't going back into the tube and all the TIFs and other tax giveaways will run for years and years.
The last three years have been like a bunch of kids in a candy store with daddy's credit card and Sly's adolescently desperate desire to be popular with the insiders, Chamber swells, and the 20-something crowd have eliminated any common sense or adult supervision from city hall.
Sly would be better off not running for re-election.
Then he can blame the financial collapse on the next round of empty-headed electeds.
Arithmetic always ends up beating rah rah.

  15. Buhahahahah will never happen in this city!

    ReplyDelete
  16. What insiders and what evidence exists that the dumb asses of KC won't turn right around and reelect Sly, Tony? I'm all for good news when it is credible.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I think a dove could run against Sly and definatley win!! I think a dove will run for president in the next election and definatley win, we gave the blackbirds a chance and as expected they let us down, so I guess its up the the few Americans that actually pay attention to what the elected morons of this country right down to your local government have done as opposed to what you want them to do. (after all they are suppose to work for you).

    ReplyDelete
  18. Glover is the man with a plan!6/4/14, 8:14 PM

Sly is not worthy to be Mayor. We need real leadership in this city and not just some poor slob who is dancing around the city in a bow tie!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'd vote for the excess sperm that oozed down the crack of Rita's ass 38 years ago before I'd vote for Sly.

    In my humble opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  20. RealTKCHeadlines is defending Sly as Mayor?

Sorry, I understand why you would attack Tony, the guy is a jerk. But you clearly don't know anything about KCMO politics.

"What fucking difference would a new airport make to people who live up there?"

Have you ever called of these things called taxes? Guess not if you can't calculate the enormous expense and debt that a new airport would put on the northland. By the way, the northland cares about this issue because the northland plays taxes.

This proves to me that you are just some guy or girl with a crush. Fine. Go at Tony all you want with your vendetta but don't confuse the issues because you are clearly out of your league.

    WILL ROYSTER FOR MAYOR!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Please no.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Voting ain't my thing but I can't think that putting Sly back into office would be a good thing given that he has so many haters in KC.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Sly is now a has been and soon to be as disliked as that fucking Glazer. Both two assholes who think the world moves and shakes to what they say, WRONG.

    ReplyDelete
  25. P BEAR, Thank you for the info. I now understand the meaning of the term SWING VOTER.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Mayor candidate Jim Glover would be a disaster! It would also guarantee Sly re-election in 2015.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Mayor Sly needs to change his game to win in 2015 and his staff on thee 29th floor. The staff is not protecting his back and defections are occurring - why?

    ReplyDelete
  28. The Mayor is REALLY enjoying recruiting the RNC tooooo much - dancing mayor video http://youtu.be/AEI6W98YSPg .

    ReplyDelete
  29. Didn't vote for him. Thought, well give the guy a chance. Can honestly say KC is worse than it was before he was elected.

    NEXT!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Run Glover Run! It will be your only chance for the BIG chair. I have seen him meeting with $$$$ folks around town.

    ReplyDelete
  31. What's wrong with this picture? http://youtu.be/AEI6W98YSPg

Is that the mayor security detail in the background reaching for his weapon once the dancing was getting out of control????

    ReplyDelete
  32. Sly James must GO! funk was crazy and so was his wife, but he didn't fuck the public again and again with new taxes that were diverted from infrastructure, and he didn't fuck the public with a hare-brained scheme like the streetcar.

Don't even get me started about the airport bullshit. If you care about the future of this City, vote this trough-feeding tax wasting asshole out of office. And the entire Council, too.

And NO ONE wants to see that pussified Glover back in office.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Agree on the "pussified" Glover comment, he is worthless!!! Maybe Cofran would be better opposing candidate for Mayor Sly . . . at least Sly would have to work for his supper / re-election!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Sly Sucks

    ReplyDelete
  35. The civil tone of this discourse about Sly's future would indicate that our mayor has a serious problem at re-election, if a serious & well financed opponent gets in the race ... The dancing video is disturbing and shows misplaced priorities and lack of focus on what is important to taxpaying voters - streets, public safety, public health, and neighborhoods ...

    ReplyDelete
  36. Sly loves being Mayor...not so much doing what it takes to reverse the City's decline. A dancing clown!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Everyone will need to vote against the streetcars tax and the transportation tax to show them the taxes have to stop, and start listening to the people.

    ReplyDelete
  38. 8:42 glad to provide that PSA

    ReplyDelete
  39. I swear Sly James originated from a gorilla. Check that dome.

    ReplyDelete
  40. YES, the anonymous bear and cum guy are good voting indicators.

And the sky is orange in your world because Sly will get his ass kicked come re-election time.

Tony TKC greater than Mad Magazine, but just barely.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Anyone But Sly 20156/5/14, 12:11 AM

Vote that fat tub of shit out!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Other than All Singing, All Dancing Sly James http://youtu.be/AEI6W98YSPg , what has he done in his first term as mayor of KC? To quote a marvel comic character he has "failed" this city.

    ReplyDelete
  43. We need to stop recycling the same old has beens in all local political positions. We desperately need some new blood. I hope everyone will get on board with voting no on any new taxes.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Sly James is dead. Good.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Alvin Brooks is dead. Good.

  46. stupid nigger.

  47. This goes down with the Magic Johnson move to own the Clippers.

What cool about this blog is that you call pull shit out of your ass and if wrong, you don't get called on it.

And you wonder why your glass ceiling in posting on a stupid blog site run by an over weight loser who lives in his mother's house.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Sounds like the 6 people who comment here, 4 of whom live in JoCo, really have your fingers on the pulse of this city...

    ReplyDelete
  49. Sounds like Mensa boy is a bit grouchy this afternoon.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Good one, GED internet lawyer self-"employed" voice of brookside boy!

How do you feel about young people with beard who dress in flannels and drink coffee?

Seems really important to know your opinion on such pressing policy details.

    ReplyDelete
  51. "How do you feel about young people with beard who dress in flannels and drink coffee?"

I don't care what facial hair young people wear (although I'd prefer the women not sport beards). If they want to wear flannel and drink coffee, that's OK with me, although I think flannel would be hot this time of the year.

You see, Mensa boy, I think young people should do pretty much what they want to do as long as it's legal and doesn't cost me anything.

How do you view young people now that you're no longer one of them?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Cofran is definitely being groomed. He is fair and honest and he knows his way around Kansas City.
We need to make sure that the big money stays away and the little people elect him and hold him accountable.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm sick of looking at his big ol' ugly negro face with its nasty ingrown hairs. He looks like the lovechild of a chimp and the Joker. And of course always carrying on like only they can. TNB.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Cochran? Glover? Are you people brain damaged?
