TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! RAGE AMONG KANSAS CITY FIREFIGHTERS AS MAYOR SLY SHOWS THEM WHO IS CHIEF!!!

There's quite a bit of Kansas City heat in the aftermath of yesterday's vote to outsource and privatize KCFD Ambulance Billing workers.

To wit . . .

KANSAS CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT LOYALISTS, SUPPORTERS AND WORKERS RAGE AS MAYOR SLY HAS CLEARLY STARTED AN EPIC CRACKDOWN ON THE DEPARTMENT!!!

Let's review . . .

Insiders remind us that Mayor Sly and his supporters on the City Council have . . .

- Closed Down Fire Stations In A Divisive Bid To Send More Cash To The Toy Train Streetcar

- Called Out The KCFD On Overtime And Presented Some Considerable Challenges On Recent Academy Class Staffing Decisions

- This Week The Outsourcing And Privatization Was Just The Latest Slap In The Face From Mayor Sly To The KCFD

One Kansas City Insider puts it this way . . .

"Yesterday, Mayor Sly James just wanted to show the KCFD that he was boss. It wasn't about the best deal for the city. This is a STINKO deal that doesn't offer any real benefit for taxpayers. The Mayor simply wanted to get his way. It's the same 'win at all costs' style of politics that has defined his Administration."

Like it or not . . .

MAYOR SLY JAMES HAS SMACKED DOWN THE KANSAS CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT THREE TIMES AND NOBODY BUT KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS IS WILLING TO SAY IT IN PUBLIC!!!

Now, given that some of these people have actively made tacit death threats against TKC . . . It's not like we're gonna cry any crocodile tears for them. It's always hard to for laymen to support the KCFD because when (some) of them get mad over a mundane political disagreement, they threaten to burn your house down or leave you dead at the scene of an accident.

But I digress . . .

The more important point here is . . .

LET'S STOP PRETENDING THAT EVERYBODY LOVES MAYOR SLY JAMES BECAUSE THIS TRIPLE KANSAS CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT SMACKDOWN ISN'T GOING TO BE QUICKLY FORGOTTEN AND MAY SIGNAL AN ALL OUT WAR OR A SERIOUS DECLINE IN KCFD POLITICAL POWER!!!

Developing . . .

  1. Does Sly still have that shirt? Or did he burn it?

  2. How long until Casa De Sly burns to the foundation while the firefighters drive their rigs in circles around the neighborhood listening to an old Disco song?

    Burn Baby Burn, Disco Inferno
Burn Baby Burn, Burn That Mother Down

  3. FACT CHECK:

    1. Closing of Fire Stations and public transit investments are 100% unrelated.

    2. The overtime expenditures are created by the city manager's failure to hire adequate staff, and are actually saving the city money in employee costs.

    3. The privatized jobs were not fire fighter jobs. They were civilian employees of the Fire Deparment.

  4. Crony capitalists win.
City employee unions lose for now

    Taxpayers will always be screwed.

  5. Sly is a bully live with it

  6. The fire stations needed to be closed. Local 42 agreed to the closing of those two stations. The outsourcing is another issue. Just vote NO in August.

  11. MONEY QUOTE:

"The Mayor simply wanted to get his way."

If this statement is not characteristic of who Sylvester James is, nothing will adequately describe it. The man is a 2 year old toddler acting out at a crowded shopping mall. Voters have conceded to just let this brat have his way and that is unfortunate. Our leaders are a supposedly a reflection of the people they serve. If that's the case, Kansas City needs to grow up quickly. Doesn't matter if the toddler is fluent in 20 languages, this type of behavior will isolate the kid and not in a good way. Sly isn't indestructible, the people need to take the power back. Once we have responsible parents overseeing these uncontrolled tantrums and unwanted behavior, the kid gets in line with the parents. Somebody call Nanny 9-1-1!

  12. WASHINGTON, D.C. — Americans’ confidence in Congress has sunk to a new low. Seven percent of Americans say they have “a great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in Congress as an American institution, down from the previous low of 10% in 2013. This confidence is starkly different from the 42% in 1973, the first year Gallup began asking the question.

Americans’ current confidence in Congress is not only the lowest on record, but also the lowest Gallup has recorded for any institution in the 41-year trend. This is also the first time Gallup has ever measured confidence in a major U.S. institution in the single digits. Currently, 4% of Americans say they have a great deal of confidence in Congress, and 3% have quite a lot of confidence. About one-third of Americans report having “some” confidence, while half have “very little,” and another 7% volunteer that they have “none.”

  13. Q: How is KCMO Mayor James like WYCO Commissioner Maddox?

    Compare and Contrast:

    1) obese
    2) unruly bully when doesn't get his way.
    3) looks for ways to spend (waste) other people's money.
    4) ignores the media when questioned on his ethics.

  15. Who gives a shit what firemen want? They should be out picking up trash instead of picking up food at the grocery stores.

Too many idle people... we need to cut em. And pull EMS out of their responsibility.

    This is just JOB CREEP.

Sounds like you cretins are yearning for the return of the Funk :) Oh my :) Bring back Mayor Smartwithnothinghouser... Absolutely not! This thought should give Mayor "Feel Good" James something to think about... in just a few short years he has or is in the process of adding billions of dollars of debt and new taxes to Kansas City Municipal Government and for the most part, he isn't making people feel good about him or themselves. Its hard to feel good about yourself, Sly, when government is creating new taxes and expenditures every day. I might digress a bit and point out that your experience as an administrator until you took over Funk's Chair (which is his office but might also be categorized as a disease) was limited to be an ambulance chasing lawyer. You might look better in a bowtie than the Funk but that isn't worth much. It will be interesting to see if you have stirred up enough people to get yourself a serious challenger. It's hard for an incumbent to lose an election in this feckless town but we can always hope :) Me, I'll just shut my eyes and think of your as a fatter, better groomed Funkhouser... and will vote and raise money for anyone who steps up to run against you. May heaven and Burns and Macdonald save your soul.

  17. By the way, fire demons, it looks like you will need a new pony. Your b-tch Cindy (dont know her current last name) isnt working for you any more either. Not that you wouldnt support a laughable creature such as Cindy but I imagine if you cant get her support, you will need to boost up another candidate. Funny to think after all these years getting f-cked by a firefighter, she's now f-cking you all :)

  20. Nobody gives a shit about the billing women. They did a shitty job when Sharp ran Mast into debt and they still don't do shit. They sit around the office watching judge Judy all day. The only reason they are pissy they are getting moved is they will actually have to work now.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Brookside and Waldo love Sly. About 20 streetcar obsessives there don't. Sly will win those ward 80-20.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Nice try, I was at the meetings where Sly treated the brookside folks with comtempt and treated them like shit for questioning the all mighty sly. there were a lot more than 20 people there.

  23. Awe come on Tony. Don't ya know the citizens of LC love this shit. Hell they been electing ass holes from the same mould for decades.

  24. KC Firefighters Union needs a good smack down. They have way too much power and influence in the city. Yes it's a dangerous job, but they chose the job and are overcompensated for spending 75% of their time on their a$$ or shopping at Costco.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I was at that meeting too. You made an ass of yourself, interrupting people speaking, attempting to shout down anyone who disagreed with you.

You alienated everyone except the same 5 people who frequent your facebook site. 95% of people in Brookside think you are crazy and annoying.

  26. This vote was so important, not one fire fighter was at the meeting Thursday, shock!!!! Tony makes shit up

  27. All water dept employees. How does the city allow these employees to come to city hall to shout etc on an issue that doesn't even affect them? What a disgrace to the taxpayers

    ReplyDelete
  28. Water Department is next for Team Sly! Terry Riley will get a great pay day.

  29. Not all is as it appears Grasshopper

Observe the baboons...does not the tribe of baboons clamor and fight each other to smell the big baboons finger after he picks his ass.

All will be bowing to the big baboon even the little thump they chest fire monkeys.

  30. Local 42 has lost all of it's power with their so-called President Cambiano aka Skippy the Punk who has lied to his own membership and pissed off all the politicians with his lies. He has openly said he may not want to support the Fire Sales Tax. What a D-Bag. There is a lot of dissatisfied Local 42 members.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Now the truth comes out....the City is shaking down the fire fighters to support a sales tax to get their shit back.

How vile ...how evil...How will you stop the fire guys of local 42 from shoving a sales tax down your throat so they can get a pay raise....to hell with saving a station.

  36. The fire tax should be turned down until the fire department can get their budget under control! The arrogant fire department acts like the money spicket can never be turned off.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The FD budget hasn't increased since 2007, they have survived because of the firefighters and medics takin cuts. Management has done nothing, they are livin high on the hog.

    1. True. Can't get a rig that doesn't break down once a month but damn if some computer jockey chief should suffer with anything less than a new take home car.

  38. F**k the fire department and their families. They do not need raises to keep up with the rise in cost of living. Let's give fast food workers the $15/hr they want, so starting paid fire fighter can make less than a McDonald's worker. Waste comes from the top, so people need to start looking at City Hall. Just look at the city budget, the problem is not just the fire department. Putting the blame on them isn't justified, and the job they do most people don't understand and they see what they want to see and assume the rest.

  40. This is a repressed city, run by corrupt politicians who because they, to are repressed they sell out themselves, and have long forgotten the tax payers who voted them in...stay tuned it wont get better!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. 9:32 the public will never hate firefighters, we show up to work everyday, and when the call comes out we respond, we are just people who hold the position of the job we do. We are union and we vote as we are told to in hopes it will benefit us in every way and 9 out of 10 times it works for us, we just have to vote for who our union tells us to, but ya know what I usually never have to fight a fire most of what we do is run medical calls, I dont care, it pays my bills. Its the hero in me.

  42. Great posts! A Lot of creativity, when you slide back from your comfort zone of your glasses of wine and 12 pack of beer, when you decide to stand up in this community and actually force some change let me know, your posts are like the shit you take every day... you know its coming, you sit on the shitter and make that happen....how about you stand up after you wipe your ass!, and make some shit happen in this community!!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. The reason the water department showed up is that the billing people are in their union. They were not allowed in Local 42.
