Ordinance #140393 - "Amending Chapter 76, Article II of the Code of Ordinances entitled Taxicab Code, by enacting new Sections 76-117 and 76-118 requiring taxicab identification cards at KCI and establishing the qualification for such cards."
Background . . . This ordinance goes hand-in-hand the previous move to take Lyft off the map altogether. Still, what's interesting here is the companies like Uber and Lyft are well-funded and this regulatory ID Card crackdown could have implications for other local industries . . . The first thing that came to mind is that the Taxi ID Card Crackdown sounds a lot like the restaurant "dumb cards" that have been the scourge of Westport impresario Bill Nigro.
In any event . . . New Kansas City rules and regs seem to be the theme for the early Summer as this town's biz savvy is now being put to the test.

Uber has A LOT more cash in the bank than Lyft and you'll notice their a lot more cautious than the pink mustaches because their biz model is a bit more solid.

The city might play these games, where they change the ordinance every 15 minutes, in Missouri kangaroo courts, but it is not going to take a legal scholar in Federal court to show that the city is engaged in a pattern of harassment. Again the tax payers will have to sit back and watch the city burn their money like there is no tomorrow. The sad part is that the numb nuts, dumb asses, of KC will turn right around an let these bureaucratic crooks back in the door as if they really do have money to burn.
