THE TKC SUNDAY SPECIAL!!! KANSAS CITY HOMELESS ADVOCATE RICHARD TRIPP EXPLAINS HIS OPPOSITION TO CITY HALL FOOD SHARING ORDINANCE CRACKDOWN!!!

Coming up this week in Kansas City is an IMPORTANT AND EPIC BATTLE which just might determine the fate of a great many po'folk on local streets who depend on the work of local do-gooders.

Again, before ANY OTHER MEDIA OUTLET IN KANSAS CITY . . . Our blog community and AWESOME TIPSTERS told us FIRST about a so-called "food sharing" ordinance proposed @ City Hall that really targets hobos and those who would help them out of the kindness of their heart.

Since our TKC BREAKING NEWS there has been a firestorm in the local media and this controversy has consumed a great many neighborhood volunteers.

Accordingly...

KANSAS CITY HOMELESS ADVOCATE RICHARD TRIPP BREAKS DOWN THE CITY HALL FOOD SHARING ORDINANCE AND PROVIDES EXCLUSIVE BEHIND THE SCENES INFO ON THE REALITY OF THE CONTROVERSIAL LEGISLATION!!!

What we like about the testimony from Mr. Tripp is that he knows this subject better than anybody else AND not he's afraid to call out the City Manager's office, other KC nonprofits and City Hall politicos in his vocation to help the less fortunate in our community.

Check the testimony, we've highlighted some of the more EPIC passages:

Kansas City Homeless Advocate Richard Tripp Seyz...

"How do I make you know how important this ordnance their trying to pass this Thursday is so important? And how it will affect every Man, Woman, and child, In our community? We all will be effected, from the kid having a Kool-aid stand, to the ones having a tailgate get together at the ballpark, not to mention the 501c3s that try to feed the homeless.

"If it gets passed you will not be able to have a block party and be able to grill a hot dog and give to another person not even your family, without having to get a permit from the city."

"The main problem is the wording of the bill itself you really have to be a lawyer to understand it. How far or how many of your American Civil rites are you ready to give up? They say this is for the good of the people their worried about the food that's given out to the poor. Problem is they have nothing to prove that any poor person has gotten sick from the groups passing out food to the poor, The same can't be said for the shelter operators in our community, that the city manager will contract with to train people to feed the poor."

"Let me spell it out what's really going on with this ordinance It starts with MONEY, Greed, and Power, If you follow it back you'll find out that it started and is being pushed by a couple of not for profits that are tired of seeing money being spent on the homeless and it's not going in their projects."

"We all know how hard it is to make money nowadays, so they came up with a plan to make it harder on the little people, you see the little not for profits are mostly funded by donations and they do most of their work with volunteers, more money coming to them So if they could come up with a way to shut the little guy down then they would get the rewards of not only more funding but also those volunteers because they would be the only one that could stay in business. But how could they get buy with it? Can you figure that one out? Also If you're smart enough and follow the ordnance backwards, I'm sure you'll figure out the one pushing it in my opinion is the leading member of Restart INC.""

Good for this guy, it's nice to know that there are some people out there who aren't just all about preserving their own connections and power.

City Hall is a bunch of fucking ass clowns. Nothing more.

Fuck a whole bunch of City Hall and all the cum sucking assholes that walk in there daily to bleed the KC taxpayer for a paycheck.

I doubt this ordinance is going to do much to keep up the morale of the swindled masses.

I am upset about the amount of litter that is left behind in Northeast neighborhoods and Kessler Park after some of these ministries feed the homeless, but I believe there are better ways to address this problem than passing ordinances that create additional fees and hoops to jump through in order to help the needy.

This ordinance is popular in Northeast, but I have been to two or three neighborhood events in the past few months that served food without a permit. I don't think everyone is thinking about the wide reaches effects of this.

Mr. Tony,
My concern from the get go was the named agency in charge of verifying volunteers, training them and quite possibly policing them. Why just one outside agency?

It must be a real bitch living in a town where the citizens constantly have the inconvenience of having to go to battle because the city leaders just can not seem to do the right thing.

This is a good example of why it's a really bad idea to draft some general public policy based on the specific concerns about a specific set of facts.
And of course, the council is way too busy to really vet and think this through with all the meetings, empty public appearances, and celebrating their own celebrity that they just have to do.
It's hard to believe that in a town of 464,000 people it's not possible to find just 13 serious folks who have at least a little interest in city government and work to make things better for the people who actually live and pay taxes here.
And endless line of clueless self-important clowns!

It's my understanding that if the ministries offering free food claimed to be a private food sharing club and signed people up on location, that none of this ordinance would apply.

I'm also wondering why city hall is passing and enforcing laws about feeding the homeless or speeding when they can't effectively enforce laws about murder or burglary.

elBryan, just follow the trail of dollars. That will lead you to the reason for this ordinance.

Someone on the city council or more than likely, several members are associated with or in bed with a entity that is milking the taxpayers.

The free food people are cutting into the GRIFTER money pie. Follow the money and the GRIFTERS will surface.

@Daisy Bear. Funny for a guy who does not have the stones to identify himself.

Old school or new school, coward.

I support the P.Bear. He stands up for what he thinks is right. I don't see you're name and address attached to your comment.

As for this ordinance, got to agree that it is just another example of corruption,

"FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROTECTING ALL RECIPIENTS OF FOOD ITEMS"

If any part of that is unclear - and any part can be judged as a "crackdown" - you people are fucking insane.

I just think eating out of the trash or someone's leftovers at an intersection where you're pan handling is more dangerous than eating a meal provided by a church. Also meth or heroin is more dangerous. I'm not convinced this ordinance is straightforward or effective. There are better/other solutions to be explored.

Hey, the dumpster is Tony's favorite lunch spot :) Give him a break!!!!

Dumb Little Girl: Mommie can I keep this homeless kitty cat and feed him.

Responsible Mother: No dearie we can not feed the stray cat because other stray cats will come and some will move from other states to be where they are taken care of for doing nothing.

Look at Califormina dearie a state that caters to homeless people and all the troubles they have with their homeless population now take that kitty back and lets keep the heartland full of kitty cats earning their keep.

This ordinance will force the chronically homeless to travel to one of the 5,000 soup kitchens in the city and be sober for the 45 minutes it takes to eat lunch. That's such an awful thing! It's cruel!

Anonymous said...

5ooo soup kitchens? Are you fucking kidding me?

10:33: You're up lat on a weekend, Scott!

It would be much safer eating from a dumpster than some of the Crossroads restaurants.

Those hipster cooks are nasty. Plus three week old kale will give you the shits.

Get a grip, Scott (aka 10:33).

That poster is pretty grim. As for this so-called ordinance, it's just more ridiculous bureaucratic red tape America is mired in. When will people wake up and realize we need far less government intervention in our lives?

Anonymous said...

acting like you care about homeless, defending the ordinance, with the above quote? You smell like a con job, think society is dumb and will buy this bullshit. Go fuck yourself, eat a dick bitch
