Now, to keep it legal we kept out all of the last names and other identifying info out of this communiqué and any guess to match up the deets would be PURE SPECULATION. What's more important is to remind locals about the duplicitous nature of local politics and how insiders often attempt to manipulate their so-called friends and colleagues. To paraphrase old school Jackson County politico and mass murderer Harry Truman might have said . . . "If you want a friend in politics, get a dog."

Sherwood Being Used And Abused



I have been bothered by this for weeks. I like Sherwood, never met Frank White, but think he is being used and does not know it. He should have dropped out and actually wanted to but the people leading him down the garden path to defeat would not let him.

It boils down to Victor being Victor . . .

Victor has the hots for Theresa not unlike he did for Beth, a former KC politico . . .

Garza wants to replace Cindy in the 5th District at large. Victor is pulling the strings to make that happen. But the problem is Victor is more devious than smart and everyone is seeing right through his efforts to manipulate Sherwood on behalf of Theresa.

Sherwood wanted to get out of the County race the day Frank White let it me known he was running. Actually the day MR. PEANUT threw around his support for White. Sherwood was toast and almost all of his true friends advised him to get out of the race into the Council race against Theresa. Victor kept saying, stay in, you can win. At the same time ole Vic is going around to organized labor meetings last week telling them to save their money, Sherwood cannot win. Now of course the withdraw deadline has passed for the August primary and Sherwood is stuck.

It gets worse.

And then there's another conflict in a OLD SCHOOL FIRE UNION NORTHLAND COUNCIL ELECTION CHALLENGE OUT NORTH. The civic/business community would rise up in arms to stop two fire union guys from getting on the Council. So Sherwood was urged Sherwood to stay in the County race knowing he doesn't have chance.

Victor who unbelievably was appointed to a really important state commission so by law should not even be involved in campaigns. But for Victor ethics has always been a foreign concept. Betrayal is not.

And Victor and Theresa say they are doing all they can to guide Sherwood's campaign, but they know the loser is poor Sherwood Smith.
