MUST READ!!! SOUTH KANSAS CITY REALITY CHECK: 107TH & BLUE RIDGE WAR ZONE!!!

MUST READ Report from Fox4: "The corner of 107th and Blue Ridge is nothing but trouble. Surveillance cameras are aimed to catch each angle and every face of those who walk by. Yet week after week, according to Kansas City police, officers respond to this very address on reports of violent crime in action."

THIS COMPREHENSIVE REPORT is really a REQUIRED READING for anybody who cares about Kansas City Proper and laments so much focus on streetcar development while so many other public safety and infrastructure problems persist.

  1. And who brought the trouble? Black people. Used to be a working-class area of white folks. Now look at it.

  2. Any convenience store anywhere is a magnet for the lower orders. Wanna find unsavory individuals in any neighborhood, of any race? Go to the nearest convenience store. Every cop knows that, every reasonably smart person shopping for a new house knows that.

Here come the John Miles, the Hartzfelds and all the other grifters yapping about how the man is keeping these fine brothers and sisters down.

At 107th Street & Blue Ridge, which was the suburbs until urban infiltrators started renting in the area en masse, has now become the new suburban ghetto. It was just a matter of time. Those urban dwellers fleeing to suburban neighborhoods with framed ranch and raised ranch style houses... the neighborhoods there now look no better than what you see in the urban core. The Revs will blame place and race but the blame is not so much the place but solely the race of the inhabitants. It seems slum-like neighborhoods, violence and mental illness are characteristic of certain of people and cultures. Do your homework and determine who is occupying homes in that area. You will quickly discover that the argument does not center on location but rather on demographics.

    Careful e'rebody!!

The hard-charger at 1:17 is throwing around advanced internet debate terms!!

Can the streetcar critics survive such an onslaught?

  7. 1:17's regular comments are almost as nonsensical as the anon who continuously equates gun homicides with vehicle accidents in a comical attempt to show that driving is pretty much more dangerous than living in the urban core.
Doesn't add a whole lot to any discussion.

  8. Mom! People that disagree found my online place to whine about transit improvements over in Kansas City and they keep commenting even though I don't like it when they say true thing that I don't like!

Make them stop, mommy. One of them made fun of Overland Park and I don't like that!!!!!

  9. There are many good points here.

  11. I hate to say this, but I wish I was rich enough to get section 8 housing.

The poor people always get good houses.

I wish I had free water and electric and gas from welfare.

I wish I had free food from a card.

    I don't get any treats.

Oh wait, I'm happy with my life because I take responsibility for choices. I am happy with the idea that I am an American and can make choices, after all this is the country of freedom. I have self-control, and some kind of concept of a higher power or whatever and some education. I don't think anyone owes me anything.

I wish I had one of those nice houses that the poor people destroy. I could fix it up real nice.

I also hate to say this, but I want Mexicans to move into the urban core....you want to know why? Because Mexicans have jobs. Mexicans do that family stuff and don't ditch their kids. They attempt construction work, and at least mow their yards.

Where Mexicans go, white people follow because of values.

  12. Agreed, Mexicans usually make great neighbors, no matter how many they cram into a house.

Blacks, well... there goes the neighborhood.

  13. A little Mexican grandma bought the house across the street. We were anxious to meet her. Before we got that chance, she moved in several generations of relatives and pretty soon there was at least 20 people living in this 3 bdrm house, and they eventually destroyed the inside of this beautiful home and it only took them about one year to do it. It sat vacant and ruined for a couple of years. Believe it or not, a very decent Black family moved in finally and fixed up the place.

  14. Yeah, I don't believe it.
