Local media notes consequence of local violence: "Bullets grazed the head of a 14-year-old girl Sunday night and hit two others Sunday night as they were standing near the intersection of 69th Terrace and Jackson Avenue. Witnesses said the gunshots came from a red vehicle."

And the poor old KC Star just keeps hoping that somehow because there are fewer murders in 2014 so far than last year, all these "programs" and millions spent are having some results.
ReplyDeleteBut if just a small fraction of the victims who were shot but not fatally had died, you'd have MORE homicides this year than last.
And as long as you don't address the who's doing the murders and have a much larger and sustained police presence in high-crime parts of the city, it's only going to get worse.
You have to feel sorry for the ever-decreasing number of good folks still left trying to live on the east side.
They're on their own.
