KANSAS CITY ORGANIZES AGAINST HOMELESS CRACKDOWN ORDINANCE!!!

Quick look tonight at yet another sign of Kansas City organizers taking on City Hall.

CHECK THIS FLYER GOING AROUND CALLING ON PEOPLE TO SPEAK OUT AGAINST A SLOPPY KANSAS CITY "FOOD SERVICE" ORDINANCE!!!

Regarding City Hall procedure . . .

Council Lady Jan advises: "If people want to comment they need to go to the committee meeting on Wednesday, June 11 on the 10th floor of city hall. There is no public comment on Thursday."

Once again, this is an important look @ Kansas City activists taking on the City Council moves that don't serve the community interest or all of its residents.

  1. The Kansas City government is a JOKE! Now you will have to pay the politicians (A permit as they call it) if you want to give someone less fortunate something to eat, otherwise you will get a fine by regulated industries...Holy Shit people !!!! Soon in Kansas City you will have to get permits to give your family gifts at Christmas. WTF

  2. oh dont forget I am sure soon to come a need for a permit if you want to mow you next door neighbors lawn after she got ill and ended up in the hospital so she didnt get a FINE by the city for her grass being to long!

And also soon to come will be a permit to do anything kind for anyone else in this city like helping them after a tree fell on their house after a storm, or helping someone change a tire on the side of the road. Good people are out there, but good people dont break the law so I guess they will be forced to get any stupid ridiculous permit the city feels necessary to impose on the only thread of humanity left in this city...good luck Kansas City!!

  4. The issue here of course is simple food sanitation. You wouldn't want someone with hepatitis handing out food anyone would you?

Another valiant effort by TKC to make something out of nothing due to ignorance of the facts, or just plain stupidity?

So allow me to get into the spirit of things by saying

SHOCK!!! ANY REASON TO SLAM CITY HALL IS VALID AS LONG AS I CAN TWIST THINGS AROUND TO FIT THE IGNORANCE!!!

  5. The good law abiding citizens will get the permit.. thats why they (the city)are making it into a ordnance, its guaranteed money for the politicians (even though in a way its kinda fraud) and if kind helpful citizens get busted by regulatory industries, the fines will be even more money for the politicians. What a Mafia we have here in Kansas City, and what a bunch of PUSSY tax paying citizens here that could care less or are too AFRAID to go against the grain of what is right.

  6. 8:16 I think permits and food sanitation has already been paid for by the manufacturers of the goods that people are giving the hungry and homeless, its called canned and packaged food for Gods sakes..and have been doing this for how many years, in Kansas City?????. The Red Cross even feeds people of disasters like fires in this city so I assume they will now need to stand in line for a permit to right?

Churches and non profit organizations who provide meals have been required to have permits to serve food not only to homeless and the hungry but to even their on church members at a potluck,( they have a food permit for their church kitchen) which is why some of your mobile food vendors pay a fee to a few churches in order to use those facilities as a commissary WHICH is required of all mobile food operations in the monopoly city. so whats your point?, you sound like someone who probabley works for regulated industries and let me tell ya, there is a ton of arrogance in that fine department of which 2 people work in

  8. Here is the ordnance:
140412 2014 Amending Chapter 30, Code of Ordinances, by repealing Section 30-73, Permits, and enacting in lieu thereof a new Section 30-73 of like title and subject matter to add food sharing permits to the Kansas City, Missouri Food Code for the purpose of protecting all recipients of food items; amending Section 30-701(b) by adding a new Section 30-701(b)(45) to require compliance with all laws; directing the City Manager to coordinate training and educational workshops with the Homeless Services Coalition of Greater Kansas City and to facilitate connections between Food Sharing permittees and neighborhood associations; and establishing an effective date.
140457 2014 Reducing expenditures and appropriating $2,500.00 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund; estimating revenue and appropriating funds in the amount of $2,500.00 in the Health Levy Fund for the purpose of providing fifty free food manager cards for food sharing permittees.

Wow 50 free food manager cards?

  9. So hey...if I want to share my shrimp scampi with my date who sits across the table from me, will I be in violation of the ordnance? She is hot but she is homeless because her ex boyfriend beat her ass up a month ago and they lived together...just checking?.

    ReplyDelete
  10. 9:22 is that really the ordnance or one you made up? That is not even realistic!

  11. 8:16 1 in 3 people have herpes and I am sure people that have it sell food to citizens every day, and while the herpes may not be as contagious as hepatitis, its still contagious, I guess it just depends on what you are eating.

If the city imposed a permit on eating at a Herpes buffet they could make a mint! I am sure one day they will, after all its Kansas City.

    ReplyDelete
  12. How is getting a permit going to stop someone serving food who has hepatitis? What a moron.... must work for the City.

    ReplyDelete
  13. "FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROTECTING ALL RECIPIENTS OF FOOD ITEMS"

If any part of that is unclear - and any part can be judged as a "crackdown" - you people are fucking insane.

    ReplyDelete
  14. 8:16 you idiot, is there a bigger chance of getting sick from free food given out or dumpster diving? guess the ppl giving out the food will have to set it in a dumpster so technically they aren't handing it out...sick society this is..

    ReplyDelete
  15. The Overland Park pussies are down in my West Bottoms neighborhood (where I work and live) 6 days a week feeding the criminal element. There is no dumpster diving anymore. Why do that when some clueless dipshit will bring you food right under the 670 bridge? These same OP candy asses go back to Applebee's and watch the KU game with their friends while the criminals steal my copper from my air conditioner and shit in my doorway. There has to be some sort of rules for this bullshit. If you feel bad for being white and living in OP give your money to the City Union Mission. They are doing good and helping people. Otherwise stay the fuck out of my neighborhood where I deal with this crime every day.

  16. Quit feeding these fucking niggers and maybe they'll just go away..

  17. Same thing they said about nazis

  18. Like any parasite There Boy going to kill you but theyre not going away either.

  19. please dont try to shit and post a comment in the morning

    ReplyDelete
  20. Oh, please 12:12. Do you really think the city gives a shit about people getting sick from the (usually prepackaged) food they're given? The health issue is a disingenuous sideshow.

    ReplyDelete
  21. @1249 you nailed it!

    ReplyDelete
  22. At least 12:49 doesn't try to wrap his opinion in an "it's for your own good" wrapping, so he gets points for honesty.

    ReplyDelete
  23. "The health issue is a disingenuous sideshow."

A sideshow for what, exactly? DO tell.

I'm sure that if it was suggested here, everyone would be in favor of shutting down the water treatment plant too. After all who needs those busybodies interfering in my right to get e. coli AM I RIGHT?

Jesus. The stupididy of this is astounding. It's basic sanitation. Public Health 101.

While we're all at it let's skip vaccinating our children and see how that works.

TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! LET'S TURN A BASIC PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUE INTO A CARNIVAL OF IGNORANCE AND RACISM!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. 1:21: No, you're not right. Ad hominem attacks may work for some, but I'm sure you can see that simply relaxing standards for people who would go hungry (and who are given for the most part prepackaged food) is a long way from advocating for shuttting down the water treatment plant or against vaccinations. Please get a grip.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Or maybe that should be reductio ad absurdum.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Either way, it's safe to say the city council could not care less about the health of the homeless who do not vote and certainly do not contribute to their campaigns. Their expressed "concern" is disingenuous.

    ReplyDelete
  28. These rich white people are pissed that areas like Historic northeast are finally standing up for themselves. Feed the hungry in your own neighborhoods. We got plenty of social services to do it over here anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  29. 12:49 is right, but so is 12:12. This ordinance is a farce.

    ReplyDelete
  30. 6:46 the people in Northeast supporting this are a bunch of simple minds that like patting themselves on the back..
