KMBZ: Local animal shelters are dealing with an influx of cats right now

It's what shelter officials call kitten season that runs through next month. At Wayside Waifs, they're out of room since they've doubled the number of felines over the last few weeks.
"As of now, Wayside Waifs has a total 120 kittens in our care. About 53 of those are in foster and unfortunately, most of them are sick," said Shelter spokeswoman Jennie Rinas.
Credit to local animal help orgs for dealing with problem humanely . . . We've heard stories about the old days when they used to just drown unwanted cats down by the river. Also, now is a good time to question deep discounting of local Korean food.
