KANSAS CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT INSIDERS RAGE OVER MAYOR SLY'S AMBULANCE BILLING PRIVATIZATION SCHEME!!!

The showdown over Kansas City Fire Department billing is coming up and now the news is finally starting to make the mainstream following a great deal of TKC coverage . . .

Check it:

KMBC: Councilman blasts plan to privatize KC ambulance billing

Deets:

The privatization issue is coming up for a second time this year. Mayor Sly James said collecting ambulance fees is not a basic function of city government.

"No government can do everything. This is not a core function," he said. "And if it's not, and if we can save money on one end and make more money on the other, that's the type of thing we ought to be looking at doing. That's what we're trying to do here."

Moreover . . .

BEHIND THE SCENES THIS IS REALLY A BATTLE ROYALE BETWIXT MAYOR SLY AND MAYOR PRO TEM CINDY CIRCO VS. COUNCIL DUDE JOHN SHARP FOR CONTROL OF THE NEXT TERM!!!

If the Mayor gets his way on this then he pretty much secures his position as "King Of City Hall" for the moment . . .

However and this is the EXCLUSIVE AND FUN part . . .

KANSAS CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT INSIDERS ARE NOW GRUMBLING ABOUT MAYOR SLY AND POSSIBLY LOOKING TO SUPPORT A NEW CONTENDER FOR THE OFFICE!!!

The double cross could be one of Kansas City's best and shows Mayor Sly thinking that he can win without firefighter union support . . . Whereas Cindy simply does whatever she's told.

Developing . . .

  1. Shame on Sly James. He has betrayed another group that helped put him into office. He better hope that all of those lawyers vote up north or else he won't get any votes on the good side of 12th street.

  3. Yeah, everybody just luuuuurves Sly.

    Right???

    Idiot.

  4. But a toy train is a function of city government?

  5. Sly is a big crook and I wouldn't be surprised if this plan ended up costing KCMO much more than anyone is saying.

  7. Lol fire dept rage, where's the 10 million over budget for OT, let's rage about that

    1. Sounds like a budgeting problem. Who's in charge of that?

    2. Idiot, everyone has to live within their budget! Does the FD have a printing press?

      Delete
    3. Didn't they cut the budget last year? If you cut a budget ten you go over it, it's a budgeting error. Plain and simple.

  8. Where is this rage? Oh, it's the two "tipsters" who Tony keeps repeating. An original thought there never was. Maybe repeat it a few more times and it will come true. While you're at it, try this mantra. "I am relevant."

  9. Lets rage about a fire union that back tracks on a contract that includes shutting down some pumpers! Lets rage about a fire department that can't control their OT. Lets rage about a fire chief that seems AWOL in so many ways. But rage on this issue?

    1. Why is overtime so high? I work for an electrical contractor and the only time we get overtime is when there's not enough electricians hired to so the work. Usually the contractor saves money because they don't pay benefits and shit when they run a job with not enough employees. The project managers usually use overtime to SAVE money on employee costs. It's built into the budget for a project. When the overtime exceeds the savings, they just hire more guys on.

    2. Great question. I think the public should know, by individual firefighter, how much sick leave they use each year. The public will be astounded, and mortified, as to how much then system is being scammed by 'heroes'. Inquiring minds want to know.

  10. Pew Research: 54,200 newspaper, magazine jobs axed since 2003

    By Paul Bedard | June 18, 2014

The decade-long devastation of the print news business, crushed by the sagging economy, the evaporation of classified and display advertising, and a reader shift to digital media, has cost at least 54,200 newsroom jobs in newspapers and magazines alone, according to Pew Research.

That figure, buried in a new Harvard University study about the troubles non-traditional reporters have getting congressional, White House and other official press passes to cover news events, is the highest calculation of job losses in American journalism yet.

The June study from Harvard's Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy refers to a Pew Research Journalism Project report on the state of the media, which focused on the shift to digital platforms and the addition of nearly 5,000 new internet-based news jobs.

That report, released in late March, included the following: “Purely in terms of bodies, the growth in new digital full-time journalism jobs seems to have compensated for only a modest percentage of the lost legacy jobs in newspaper newsrooms alone in the past decade. From 2003 to 2012, the American Society of News Editors documented a loss of 16,200 full-time newspaper newsroom jobs while Ad Age recorded a decline of 38,000 magazine jobs, which includes all jobs for the entire consumer magazine sector.”

Washington news bureaus have been a major part of the radical cuts. More than half of the Washington bureaus operated by media outlets have been killed over the last decade, and the remaining often operate with just a handful of reporters, not the dozens of decades ago.

And national and local television and radio newsrooms have also suffered since 2003. Local TV has been hit especially hard, as companies have shifted from two- and three-person reporting, camera and sound teams to a single reporter.

  12. Ok rage expert, the same politicians that are shoving the toy train down your throat hired the chief, they also cut the FD budget by 12 million last year. The flyer I got at my house said the Union has to honor the contract and the city had the option for the last 2 contracts to close stations, but kept working with the union to find savings or funding. The city is not even going to apply for the SAFE grant. So the station out south and the pumper on the plaza are closing June 30!

    ReplyDelete
  13. That's the deal, they ran 19 medics and 28 fire fighters short for most the year, they know this and are just trying to make the FD look bad. The weak ass chief has never corrected the conversation, nor mentioned the salary savings.

  14. Who's in charge of the budget?

  16. 913 is way beyond correct and I can feel the chill in Hades.

Good example of white guy being right and black guy being wrong does not compute. People smarter than me would do business with Al-Queda before they would do a deal with John "Stub Hub" Sharp.

Sharp is a bottom feeder. He lives a third world existence with public funds and influence peddling. The Supremacists on this blog would personally grow if they had the sack necessary to look hard at this white guy. Gifters? You Bears etc. have no idea.

But it's 2014 and the internet makes it easier to provide endless information to support any biased point of view.

Nice series by the Royals to all the haters out there.

  19. Once the mayor went ghetto (which was when he was born) I was disappointed his son Kyle didnt pop up on the reality show we (like Americas got talent) have been watching for years in this city which is:

Kansas City has no talent based off the way the citizens vote proven by morons...the judges would be the council and the creator would be Sly...wait a Minuet what is his name again? SLY...well he is very sly and his son KYLE is criminal the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. this is a criminal and MOB run city, and transportation seems to trump public safety.

If everyone moved out of KC that would be the only way to solve the problems here. IT will never happen here in KC, people live on 2 things, and that is oxygen and drama, and those people will never give up either one.

I think we should change the motto from city of fountains to a city filled with people who dont care enough to change what they bitch about...power is in numbers and remember if you watched the youtube video "streetcar truth" Russ johnson says he knows 50 people who can make no matter what happen. Go russ you sellout!

Seriously? City's don't develop neighborhoods either. They also don't allow infrastructure to become so bad that KC streets are makeshift rivers. This mayor is horrible. He's a liar, a hypocrite and worse of all a poor excuse for a leader.

Wish John Sharp wasn't cheerleading on East Patrol and the street car nonsense. He had to learn the hard way.

  21. I lived in KC all my life, I have watched the news and the blogs from my new home over a thousand miles away over the last 5 years. I dont miss my friends from there, because all them have left Kansas City as most smart people do. ( well unless you are a corrupt business owner or CEO of several world hardhearted companies that are not actually located in KCMO but in JOCO (I am sure there was a reason for that)

I hope KC gets the NRC to come there so the revenue can pay for all the lies the local government has been selling the few great people of Kansas City. Good luck with that. And instead calling KCMO'S 311 you would be better of calling 1-800-Uhaul, so you can get the fuck out, you may qualify for refugee assistance. Just depends on if you can rent the truck without a credit card, or a deposit or a hurricane Katrina.

  23. Don't worry, this will all be over soon when the fire union gets a new president this fall. Then they will return to cooperating with this mayor and the city council (who they endorsed when the old leadership ran the show). Obviously, Louie Wright and Sherwood knew how to get things done to benefit everybody and they can't like how 42 operates now. The rank and file union firefighters just want to do their job they don't want to constantly fight like cambanio does

  24. Either way if you stay shut up, if you decide to leave it could change your life! Most small wanna be big cities have corruption, its just the way it works.

People in power sell out their morals and values every single time. That is your mayor, that is your council people, that is your boss. If anyone has power over you and you let them have a power over you, well that is on you and you will have to live and deal with it.

Change is your power and only you can embrace that if you choose to.

  26. 10:04 I have never been a fan of John sharp but when he stood up and checked the Mayor for what he is, I kinda dig John, not saying I would vote for him in the future, but John has my interest, and now so does my interest in the mayor for proving that you can live in the ghetto, and you can come from the ghetto and be mayor, but you cant no matter what snow people on the difference. he is still a violent Nigg%#
