ReplyDeleteKCMO homicides are down by 25% so maybe in 2014 a city of only 464,000 people will have less than 33% of the number of murders of New York, which has a population 16 times as large.
Rounding errors, luck, bad aims, and small caliber weapons are hardly progress.
The biggest contributors to the murder decrease are the docs and nurses in the local ERs.
And anyone who thinks that this level of violence, which has gone on for many years, is really all just a part of living in an "urban environment" is living in a fantasy world.
All these millenials, hiopsters, and urban pioneers are just one carjacking, mugging, or home invasion away from becoming suburbanites north of the river.
Where they will be statistically more likely to die in a horrendous car wreck on a 16 lane interstate to nowhere...
