Check the right hand corner of the chart . . . The trend that nobody but TKC is noticing is that Black AND Latinos are amassing on the city's East side.

Decades later and things are no better; actually worse. Trying to civilize blacks and make them self-sufficient is like nailing jello to a tree. DeleteActually nobody is amassing on the Eastside. Blacks with any sort of money or ambition have fled to better school districts that can be at least called mediocre. Why live in a shithole on the eastside when you can live in a neighborhood in Raytown or Grandview which when it comes down to it isn't that bad, just working class.
ReplyDeleteThe recent immigrants have moved to the Historic Northeast which is good for them- they have a neighborhood and a community structure to rely on as I'm sure it is tough as hell trying to survive in this goddamn city- much less as an illegal immigrant, legal immigrant, or migrant worker.

11:57 is right. The east side is depopulating as blacks gain affluence and get the heck out. Note that the largest concentrations of green on the map is in the housing projects.
