Fun fact for our Kansas City Summer season of violence . . .
THE SO-CALLED WESTPORT RENAISSANCE WAS NOTHING MORE THAN A MYTH AND RIGHT NOW INCREASING VIOLENCE AND LOW RENT CROWDS ARE CAUSING THEIR SHARE OF PARTY DISTRICT VIOLENCE IN THE OLD SCHOOL MIDTOWN KANSAS CITY HANGOUT!!
Now, the mistake and the misreporting around town is that violent teen flash mobs are solely responsible.
In fact, it's trashy ADULT Westport patrons who have been brawling as of late . . .

Anyhoo . . . It's not really news to report that Westport white people are scared . . . Violent teens and young crowd of minority youth basically "killed" their biz about 10 years ago . . . More to the point, it was mostly racist reaction and fear that caused widespread panic.
This time around . . . The tactic is more subtle and what we're seeing is Westport bar owners looking to hide violent stats by blaming minorities instead of acknowledging that their drunken party is turning sour after a brief but pleasant buzz.

ReplyDeleteNo Westport business owners are blaming anyone for anything. Everybody does great biz. Then midnight hits and the losers show up.
But the whole town turns loser after midnight! The Nigros, etc would freak if booze serving stopped at 1am again, but you can bet the problems would go way down.
Westport was great when The Prospect Of Old Westport, Blayneys, The New Stanley, Kellys and Harris House were there.
ReplyDeleteActually, Westport is still fun. I see a lot of people moving about and chatting it up. A few bouncing off the walls. We already have 25 percent of the population addicted to alcohol. The hobo camps aren't a good place to dry out so might as well party while your liver holds out. There ain't no retiring in this system if we're waiting for beer sales to carry us through this Depression!
