Right now the Kansas City controversy over ride-share Internets programs and the taxi industry is reaching a fever pitch.

To wit . . .
KANSAS CITY INSIDERS INTRODUCE A RACIAL ELEMENT INTO THE MIX AS SOME OF THIS TOWN'S HIGHEST RANKING LAWYERS GETTING READY TO GET INTO THE MIX!!!
Here's the argument from a rather AWESOME KANSAS CITY INSIDER regarding the racial element of this standoff that could soon make mainstream headlines . . .
"This Lyft issue, for example, presents a lot of recurring drama regarding Bill George's monopoly on the cab permit system, that, as you remember, was recently legally challenged and failed in Jackson County's Circuits courts. He's likely not a bad guy, but his alleged past role on Regulated Industries raised a lot of concerns with the minority cab company owners who are always fighting the permit regulations. While he pays annually for cab permits, he also charges his drivers a monthly fee that is much more than he pays, leaving cab drivers with about $18,000-$20,000 in yearly income."
Now . . .
Kansas City Transportation Group Exec Bill George responds to the statements over compensation and legal tactics:
"Our fees to our drivers include; the cost of the car, maintenance, sales tax, property tax, licenses, insurance, marketing, 24/7 call taking and dispatching services, technology and data fees, computer equipment, meters, radios, taxicab signage, backseat credit card machines, credit card processing, etc.
"The city's best cab drivers contract with us because we offer them superior services and earning potential."
This journey isn't near complete and this post offers an important clue as to which direction this hot mess is headed. STAY TUNED TO TKC for all the latest deets . . .
