Post-Dispatch: The bill would make Missouri one of only three states with a 72-hour wait between state-required counseling and an abortion
CNN: Abortion rights advocates slammed the bill, describing it as an intrusion on personal lives.
WaPo: Nixon said Tuesday that he would review the extended waiting period and act in a manner consistent with his other actions on abortion legislation.
US Today quotes OUR MIDTOWN KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI HOUSE REP . . . "Democratic Rep. Judy Morgan said women already consult with family, friends and religious leaders before making the decision about whether to have an abortion. She said women do not take the decision lightly.
"Those of us who oppose this bill believe it's designed to demean and shame a woman in an effort to change her mind and places unnecessary hurdles on her decision to end a pregnancy," Morgan said.
This is another blessed situation where the Gov. will lose politically no matter which way he chooses and so he has the opportunity to stand up against the one of the most horrific quasi-medical procedures in all of recorded human history.

It typically takes 25-30 years to execute those who have been convicted by a jury of their peers for slaughtering someone, and the liberals cry that we need to not act so hastily.

The only thing that Jay Nixon might become vice-president of when he leaves office is a small town bank in rural Missouri.
