In this EPIC community journalism editorial . . . Northeast News calls out the City Market to 7-11 on Benton Blvd. toy train route.
Gerrymandered district promises more taxes on urban neighborhood
Noteworthy fact amid a great many of important insights . . .
Northeast News: "Before one inch of track is laid, millions will have already been paid to consultants, engineers, architects and anyone else associated with this train wreck of an idea..."
Developing . . .
Obviously, even after all these years of reporting, Northeast News doesn't understand that insider dealing and juicy contracts are what KCMO government is all about.
ReplyDeleteDo they REALLY still think the folks in city hall have the public's interest in mind?
Why do you think Lawyers are on are on committee's at City Hall? To get projects done for their clients. Not anything left for the neighborhoods.
ReplyDeleteI pray daily I wake up one morning and check the news to find certain officials being perp walked out of city hall and subpoena's being delivered in bulk and that it all ends with the downtown toy train and that is the end of it.
ReplyDeleteI bet Vanilla Ice could build it cheaper.
ReplyDeleteNow that the weathers nice this route will be great for the crack whores!
ReplyDeleteAt least go to Van Brunt so all the bangers can get to school!
ReplyDeleteWhat the fuck is the northeast news? Is it a paper?
ReplyDeleteDo we really want to make it easier for anybody that lives "there" to be able to hop the street car and get to...where...nevermind.
ReplyDeleteSynders Market has fresh killed chicken feet every Thursday! Never frozen!
ReplyDeleteSome of those young med students at the Ostoepathic Medical School sure know how to get the kink on if you know where to look!
ReplyDeleteThe people of KC need to implement a "take no prisoners" approach in this next election. Every elected crook and every bureaucratic ass hole who touched this train project need to be gone. People in this town have got to get their heads out of their asses and put a stop to this bullshit.
ReplyDeletei would blow vanilla ice until his head caved in
ReplyDeleteIndependence Ave will be an awesome streetcar route. It's about time we reinvest in that part of town. Naysayers don't want it but are jealous of others that get it.
ReplyDeletei cant wait till the day when I can attach my fixie to the front of the streetcar and go from my cold storage 450 sf2 loft to sabor centroamericano to buy 1 torta and a mexican coke.
ReplyDeletethis is going to create so many jobs!
No $$$, No development
ReplyDeleteThe streetcar only has moderate support in Northeast. Most that I talk to are against it but I recognize that many will vote for it without considering the sales tax burden it will bring. 12.35% is too damn high.
