It'll be interesting to see where the first nigger murder occurs on this dumb-assed contraption...

When you have a proven liar like David Johnson still on these transportation boards and influencing policy what does that tell you about Russ Johnson's character?

But the library is at 10th and Main, not 9th...

The majority of Streetcar evangelists-supporters fear that most people really do prefer driving and sprawl over transit and density, and so that's why they are not willing to take me or anyone else up on any challenges presented to them.

The Streetcar marketing people are a bunch of fucking hacks. All looking for a payout while they puke corporate speak. Can't wait to see what they name it. Maybe TKC should have a contest.

You could walk faster than that streetcar is going to move.

They should all be called the 'Streetcar people have thin skin' stops. Make them in different langauges and pay a consultant for it.

It should be much less of a concern that the streetcar people have thin skins, than the fact that most of the 20-something transit enthusiasts don't have any money, rent don't own, and will be long gone way before the decades of debt for this toy is paid off.
Regular folks will be on the hook for hundreds of millions.
Having access to cash and credit without any adult supervision is really turning out to be a very bad way to "run" a city.

Remember Nigro's Trolley?

That worked our real well didn't it.

Bet taxpayer money not been paid back for that project either.

This is the town that built what is probably the most fucked up airport in the country.

Don't be getting any hopes that they can built a choo choo that actually does anybody (other than contractors and grifters) any good.

This is a town where, eons after Pendergast, the city fathers are still not trusted to run a police department.

Technical question: can a municipality be a failed state? If so, then we're heading for failed state in a failed state.

We had a fine street car line once. Then all these uppity folks thought they was to good to ride it and that was the end of that.

So here we go again only this time you people going to really have to pay to get it going so nobody rides on it again.

People think I am old and senile well let me tell you they sure as hell have never met the supporters of this joke trolley.

I liked our airport, not flown anywhere in 20 years but looked to me to be operating just fine. Glad when it moved out there didn't have low flying planes overhead anymore all the time.

Listen to Granny; she makes sense. This dumb trolley is no more relevant than a new ride at Worlds of Fun, because that's what it's going to amount to ... an amusement vehicle for a handful of latte-sipping, urbanite wannabes or drunks going from one watering hole to another. It's not going to provide efficient transportation for the masses now or anytime in the forseeable future as KC has always been a "car" town. Not to mention, like anything in the city proper, it's going to attract inner-city riff raff, and the first time someone is mugged, attacked or worse, most people will avoid it like the plague. It would make as much sense for KC to throw all of this money into a bonfire.
