ReplyDeleteIt would be a better idea to incentivize quitting. If people on public assistance pledge to quit and 6 and 12 months later they are nicotine free, then they can get a discount on their part of the rent bill or perhaps some gift cards to local establishments.

ReplyDeleteI have noticed that many of the people living in public housing are fat. Therefore, I propose that we give them one year to achieve their proper weight or move.
ReplyDeleteAlso, consumption of alcoholic beverages, while having some benefit in moderation, is the cause of a multitude of social and health problems. Therefore, residents of public housing will no longer be allowed to consume them.
Damn, I finally agree with Mary on something. Besides the health risk (which we'll be paying for through Medicaid), there's also the fire risk (which we'll be paying for if an apartment catches fire). The taxpayer is on the hook for too much as it is; there's no point in making them responsible for more.

ReplyDeleteI want the city to clean up smoking at the casinos. A hell of a lot more people are exposed to smoke there than in a private residence. Of course private folks aren't lining anyone's pockets either....hell the mob ain't running the casinos ...the casinos have bought the city.
