Kansas City Waldo White People Sellouts

The Inside Brookside Real Estate Blog reports a bit of good news for those wanting to cash out of our favorite Kansas City working-class enclave for white people: Waldo Home Prices Up During Spring Buying Season

  1. Newsflash: In all nice areas home values are up. Where I live there is less than a months home supply on the market they are going so fast. I am sure the housing market is depressed East of Troost but everywhere else it is not.

  2. Heard cardboard boxes under 670 selling good over the weekend

  3. Kind of like the great sub prime housing bubble years ago. Man things were great!

  4. If everyone is Waldo sold their home, moved to Northeast and paid cash for a house + bought an investment property, this neighborhood would turn around in 5-10 years and everyone who invested in it would be much better off. There's no reason to be house poor; especially in a market like KC.

  5. Waldo is on the upswing while Northeast flounders, because it is on a legacy transit spine and has a nice, centralized locus of activity at 75th and Wornall.

Northeast could have the same thing with a streetcar line.

But keep fighting it, Bryan. Keep Northeast stagnant.

  6. Waldo always thought it was higher class than what it is. It isnt sunset hill or even brookside.

  7. Does some streetcar person follow ElBryan around? It's creepy.

I've never understand why Waldo prices are so high. I hate to break it to people but the houses look like tired crap. Is Waldo where Brookside wannabe's land?

  8. Yeah, it doesn't make any sense at all, Terry!

Look at this awesome mcmansion we got for 185 thousand at I 35 and 249th street. Sweet schools that are only 45 minutes away, plus you and I can get to our jobs in a little less than an hour, and we have a 13 car garage, a mud room, some great t-111 siding and faux native stone, plus a water feature and a culdesac. Our grocery store, inside an ocean of parking, is only 36 minutes away, slightly closer than our megachurch, our CVS and our Costco....

Why would any one want to live in Waldo, I mean, I know we drive up there every friday night and you have ladies who lunch dates in brookside once a week, but seriously, we can have a 9000000 sqaue foot house for the 4 of us, shitty, day labor construction and a lawn that we overwater and over fertilize and over cut (i mean, we pay mexcians to do it) for only 1.6 times as much.

Fucking hipsters. Probably drinking coffee and have beards like your vagina used to before the Flanagan girls told you that was out of style. hahahah.

  9. I like how even in the hipster slam of the suburbs the house is bigger, newer, more energy efficient, and on a cul de sac.

    The horror!

Here's a tip: if there has ever been a major criminal with the name of your town, then you should probably move---aka "The Waldo Rapist"

  10. Waldo is a shitbox. Ticky tacky housing surrounded by bars, tattoo parlors, and payday loan shops. That's a quality neighborhood for ya!

  11. ElBryan- nobody wants to move to NE. Too many busy bodies in your neighborhood. NE is not going to get any better in my lifetime..
