Charges filed in May 12 KC homicide
A 25-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in connection with the early Monday shooting and killing of Michael A. Dawkins near Linwood and Holmes, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Abdul Q. Glast, dob: 2/14/1989, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, police were dispatched to Linwood and Holmes on a shooting early Monday morning. They found the gunshot victim Michael Dawkins, 53 (dob: 3/31/1959), in front of a residence in the 3200 block of Holmes. Video showed two males running away from the shooting, and officers detained a suspect who matched the description of the suspect. A witness said Glast started talking to the victim, who was walking down the street, when an argument occurred and he heard a gunshot. He saw Glast pointing a gun at the victim who fell to the ground.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $200,000.
