FOX4: On Sunday night around 9 p.m. Kansas City, Mo. police tweeted from the scene of the homicide, said to have taken place in the 4100 block of Virginia.
Unofficially, at the close of the weekend that's 23 murders so far this year compared to 32 at this time last year.
And like it or not, it seems that celebration from Dead Tree Media and the Mayor's office over slightly lower murder numbers early in the year might have been a bit premature.

Sly, the council, and the police board need to suck it up, back the cops, spend some money hiring more police, and support a much larger and more sustained police presence in high-crime parts of the city. At this point, anyone who's able is moving out of the east side and the ratio of thugs to law-abiding residents is getting worse every day. No one will cooperate with the police in that environment and with a homicide clearance rate of only 55%, the bad guys are more than happy to take their chances with the criminal justice system.
Take a tip from New York and get serious.
