KMBC: The robbery was reported at Commerce Bank at 118 W. 47th St. at 9:30 a.m.
KCTV5 reports FBI investigating this bank robbery
KSHB: According to police, the robbery happened around 9 a.m. Saturday at the Commerce Bank, located on the Country Club Plaza. The suspect allegedly had a weapon and threatened the teller both verbally and with a note.
The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-40s, approximately 6’2” and weighing 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red shirt, blue jeans, and a dark gray beanie cap.

Astute TKC Readers often remind us that the Plaza is also home to a great many robberies, a rape or two more than occasionally and muggings that don't often make the news.

ReplyDeleteHaving lived on the Plaza for 30 years, know that only about 20% of the actual crime that occurs on or near the Plaza is reported. It has to be major crime with multiple witnesses that can't be kept quiet or it's not reported.

ReplyDeleteYour Honor, my client is clearly the victim here. The bank had clearly posted signage indicating "No Penalty For Early Withdrawl" and since he did request the cash at 9:00 AM, it was his belief that there would be no repercussions for his actions.
I move for dismissal of all charges.
He wanted to score the job early before the mobs arrived on the Plaza and things got really dangerous.
