Kansas City ALEC Protest Aftermath

Recently, a Conservative corporate think-tank held their get-together in Downtown Kansas City and this town's organized labor and protesting elite showed up to offer an EPIC challenge.

Here's a bit more on the outcome . . .

ALEC Struggles in Kansas City

Deets:

Around 400 people gathered outside the ALEC meeting to raise their voices against the corporate bill mill. Demonstrators held hand-made signs reading "Missouri does not need ALEC" and "Money + Influence = Bribery."

It was a pretty impressive protest against a little-known conference that doesn't have a lot of influence . . . Nevertheless, this might provide just the slightest preview of protest that would await the GOP 2016 Convention if they weren't already going to Dallas.

  3. If pointless marching around and making signs actually accomplished anything, KCMO would be the shining city on a hill that the delusional Sly and others constantly talk about.
While these folks are marching in protest of some out-of-town group, the locals they elect are giving their city away to the swells, insiders, and developers.
Magic always depends on really good distraction.

  4. Doesn't have a lot of influence? Hello, Tony, you need to read about them. Yes, they are powerful. Visit Kansas to see how much.

  5. What 6:52 said.

Why do special interest groups always call out other special interest groups on contributions/favors? The ethics commission doesn't place a dollar value on grassroots work or even report it on behalf of a candidate, so who knows? These groups that cry foul may be bigger donors (in-kind)than we know.

  9. It is coming to the point where we need to just give the republicans Kansas, Oklahoma and Alabama and deport them there. Republicans are worthless vile greedy POS. The reservation system worked for the indian problem a century and a half ago, and will solve our republican problem today.

  10. You may not know ALEC but you know who the KOCH Brother's are? The Koch's funnel money through ALEC to get their bills past. ALEC is an EDUCATION NON PROFIT (NGO) and have unlimited money they can spend as lobbyist.

  11. So is this Occupy Wall Street by another name?

Consider the words of this very wise woman:

“America is at that awkward stage. It’s too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards. On the road to tyranny, we’ve gone so far that polite political action is about as useless as a miniskirt in a convent.”
--Claire Wolfe, 101 Things To Do 'Til The Revolution

The Federal Government has bought over 1 billion rounds of hollow point ammunition and they might shoot us first.
