JACKSON COUNTY INSIDERS WARN US: KANSAS CITY STAR GETTING READY TO DO A HATCHET JOB ON SHERWOOD SMITH!!!
Somebody awoke the Star's resident hack Mike Hendricks and asked him to write this:
Ex-Royal and political newcomer Frank White has a big advantage over his little-known opponent
There's lots of somewhat relevant stuff in here but what stands out is this . . .
THE KANSAS CITY STAR IS TRYING TO SELL HALL OF FAMER FRANK WHITE AS AN UNDERDOG!!!
It's a cynical ploy but shows where they're coming from and who will get their endorsement via Mr. Peanut & the County Exec . . . Which is the political connection they don't really like to talk about . . .
Anyhoo, the campaign finance stuff in the article is amateur since Mr. Peanut is famous for masking his cash and we all know Pat O'Neil doesn't work for free.
Still, we just wanted to call out the Dead Tree Media bias before Mike Hendricks heads back to the suburbs for the night.

ReplyDeleteHave either of them said anything at all abou their ideas or motivations for running or anything other than all the deadbeat usual suspects who are endorsing them?
The county legislatue isn't a job that someone "deserves" or runs for "to move up".
There are some actual responsiblities that residents of Jackson County depend on.
You wonder why money is wasted the way it is and why services like the assessment process are so screwed up, and then the same kinds of people get elected over and over again.
What a pitiful joke.

ReplyDeleteCounty Legislators are supposed to look the other way while the assessors jack off in their office, and the sheriff sexually harasses female employees. Then when a court approves a seven figure settlement, they are supposed to vote to approve the spending. This is not rocket science. If Henry Rizzo and "Bishop" Tindall could do it, your average coffee cup could fulfill the de facto job requirements. If they cannot get the hang of it, they simply hire an aide who exhibits the IQ of a box of wing nuts to answer the phone and say "The legislator is inspecting the County."

ReplyDeleteWhat does name recognition have to do with experience in the arena that the legislature should require? The County position does not require a baseball glove.
ReplyDeletePat Oneil referring to a veteran firefighter as "the fire guy" is an incredible sign of immaturity and a lack of class. From a guy who holds himself as a proud Irishman to insult a profession and institution that has strong Irish roots is an incredible disappointment to those of use who have family that are firefighters.
