Diversity Question: Why Is The KCFD STILL Dominated By Old School White Dudes?!?!?

Newspaper fills in the header for this bit of news wire content that still raises in interesting point: Fire departments search for ways to spark more diversity in their ranks

Fact check: When it comes to minority hiring and promotion the KCFD lags behind all other CITY DEPARTMENTS because CITY HALL IS TOO SCARED TO CRACKDOWN ON THIS BIT OF ILLEGAL KCFD DISCRIMINATORY PATTERN . . . They've recently lost lawsuits on this one and they're sure to lose more.

  6. If the darkies could pass a test then it may be accurate. Why put a black who fails the test over a white who passes a test.? The blacks will bitch and moan until they get everything their way. Disgusting!!!!

  7. KCFD should move to Platte County. That's where they want to be anyway.

  8. most big-city fire departments are like that. jobs are handed down from father to son, uncle to nephew. find a firefighter and chances are, he has relatives who are or were firefighters. and they tend to be old-line ethnics: Irish, Italian, etc, as opposed to black or hispanic. in a lot of economicallky destroyed places, like detroit and philly, firemen (and they are almost always men) are the last blue-collar white guys who can afford to own houses and new cars.

    1. The reason you see sons and daughters follow in their fathers footsteps is because the father teaches the next generation ethics. They teach them hard work is important. They teach them about being a good person and to help people. Those same characteristics are what makes a good firefighter. THAT is why you see 3rd and 4th generation firefighters; because they were raised right and know how to honor the profession and the people they serve

  14. The answer to the question, Tony, is that the city can not pay the medical bills after all those Latinos take over and start cooking at the fire house.

  15. Hire me because I'm black and I have no qualifications what so ever! That's sounds genius.

  16. Can you fight fires with your basketball shorts down around your knees?

  17. The only reason KCFD wants to move to Platte County is because the grocery stores are better, and thats where KCFD hangs out.
