Here's a bit of important and simple new tech employed to keep the Plaza safe tonight.
KANSAS CITY IS USING FLOOD LIGHTS IN MILL CREEK PARK TO PREVENT VIOLENT TEEN FLASH MOBS FROM TAKING REFUGE IN THE DARK!!!
For a couple of years the violent teens have used the park to escape capture and throw off authorities but now ... Finally... It seems that KC is turning on the lights to keep violent teens clearly in sight.
At around 9 in the PM it seems to be working.

Just back from the Plaza. Lots of people strolling and enjoying the weather, whites and blacks. Young blacks at Palace Cinemark were well behaved among crowd at KC Film Fest.

It's not like these developments at the park happened over night. They have been planned for months, if not years. Where were Pat Clarke and Urban Core Park Users then? And how ignorant is it of Pat Clarke to imply that basketball and baseball are the only sports blacks can play?
Lots of complaints in the black community that kids don't have money, and they don't have anything to do. So the Zoo struck a deal with the city as part of a renovation package to offer a few free days each year. No charge, and the kids would have a place to go (at least for the day). How did that turn out? Fights, harassment and shootings -- for two years in a row.
