TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY INSIDERS REVEAL: NEW CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES STAY WINNING WITH KCI SINGLE-TERMINAL OPPOSITION!!!

Some of the most KICK-ASS KANSAS CITY INSIDERS recently reveled that opposition to the KCI Single-Terminal scheme could help fledgling city council candidates soar above their competition at the outset of this election season.

Supporting this statement is the fact that one of many independent polls suggests that more than 60% of Kansas City residents oppose the plan to change KCI to an inconvenient single-terminal.

To wit . . .

KANSAS CITY INSIDERS ARE ADVISING CITY COUNCIL HOPEFULS TO HOP ONBOARD KCI SINGLE-TERMINAL OPPOSITION OR RISK A CAMPAIGN THAT WILL CRASH AND BURN!!!

Here's a bit more reasoning on the topic . . .

Sure, the current Mayor and Council are simply doing the bidding of their corporate owners with the promise of back scratching reciprocity in the future. However, for more than a year airport dude Mark VanLoh and company really haven't been able to convince the public that screwing with the airport is a good idea.

Council dude Russ Johnson tactics attempt to hijack democracy but that isn't helping the public perception of the shaky single-terminal plan.

Finally . . .

AN INFORMAL TKC SCIENTIFIC MARKET RESEARCH POLL REVEALS THAT A MAJORITY OF INCOMING CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES DO, IN FACT, OPPOSE THE SINGLE-TERMINAL PLAN THAT MAYOR SLY AND COUNCIL ARE TRYING TO GET OFF THE GROUND!!!

Here's the main point of advice that KICK-ASS KC INSIDERS are giving to all city council hopefuls . . .

OPPOSITION TO THE KCI SINGLE-TERMINAL SCHEME IS A NON-PARTISAN AND NON-RACIAL ISSUE . . . IT'S ONE OF THE RARE OPPORTUNITIES TO SIDE WITH POPULAR VOTER SENTIMENT THAT CROSSES ALL DEMOGRAPHIC AND POLITICAL LINES IN KANSAS CITY!!!

What does it all mean???

- Look for major opposition from newbie City Council members on Mayor Sly's single-terminal plan.

- Support or wavering on the KCI single-terminal scheme could be the kiss of death and will be exploited in the upcoming election.

- Mayor Sly and Council know they're on borrowed time when it comes to this issue so look for even more undemocratic maneuvering from the likes of Council dude Russ Johnson.

  2. Spend some money to upgrade the restrooms and repair the problems. That Airport kicks ass. You can get in and out in a flash.

No one, but fucking no one gives a fuck about over priced restaurants and fancier gift shops. Jesus, shut the fuck up and get your ass back down in the city proper, fix the streets, the sewers and hire more cops then go play fuckin golf.

    Jesus.

If you think that this group of electeds are bad, wait until you get a slate of Tony's "I am against everything candidates". Like many circumstances, it feels good to piss and moan about every action taken by others, but when you see people put into a position of authority and apply the "no to everything" approach, you really experience stalemate.

Most people don't give a shit about history, recent or far back. What makes understanding what came before helpful is, it provides insight on how not to repeat bad decisions.

At the same time, it is humbling. Which is good for the readers here who have an opinion and answer for every damn public policy issue that arises in KC.

    Go Kentucky in Arlington!

  5. Good thing you are not a political consultant. Why would any candidate take a side when the damn thing will be decided before they are even elected? Only a novie would try and bank off this.

  6. As a Johnson countian, please please spend your money on a new airport Missouri. It should be done just in time to fly all the Sprint hot shots out to California!

Pay the bills and provide good stewardship in the use of taxpayer money.

In our freshly remembered past, this has not been the case. This is the "Tired of Hope and Want Results for a Change" platform.

  11. If any of these newbies get elected, the first thing that will happen will be visits from the swells, Chamber folks, developers, contractors, planners, consultants, and all the rest of the insiders who use the KCMO general fund as their own private piggy bank, and they will have how things really work explained to them.
Then, since they are all empty suits with no real interest in city government, just like the councilmembers they replaced, they will durifully come up with new rationales as to how they really didn't know as much as they do now and have changed their opinions.
And KCMO will continue to suffer by the fact that it really doesn't have an elected municipal government.
    Thanks for playing.

  12. If the asshats on here had there way, CK would still have a grass bi-plane airport. "A landing field and a tent for ten is plenty. Don't spend the money!"

There's nothing easier and more fun than spending other people's money on things you might find exciting, fun, or "cutting edge". In fact, that way of doing things is a good definition of how what passes for KCMO government currently works and has for years.
But residents also expect the electd folks to spend money wisely, take some time to actually learn about the issues, and not constantly get railroaded into making embarrassingly silly "investments" that turn out to be financial black holes.
And it would be helpful if the elected folks gave some attention, offered some basic management to, and spent some money effectively on such things as public safety, street repairs, code enforcement, and all the other functions that local government actually has responsibility for.
If that's all too boring, the politicians can quit and get jobs at the "entertainment district" to amuse themselves. And that would actually cost the taxpayers less than they do now.

  19. h yes, the powerless and helpless TKC comment community. Sniveling low life parasites who are not important enough or brave enough to actually meet the people you troll on. You were the kids who got their asses kicked in high school and were never allowed to hang around the cooler more popular kids. Hey, although you are stuck here in the comment section of a blog and still not allowed around the cool kids, at least you don't get your asses kicked anymore. You will forever be on the outskirt no matter how much this blog makes you feel like you have inside information.
