TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! COMING SOON: CHRISTOPHER LEITCH COMEBACK @ KANSAS CITY MUSEUM?!?!

Now that GG isn't in charge . . . Northeast Kansas City residents are making a power play to bring back one of their strongest advocates . . .

INTERCEPTED BY KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS . . . CHECK THIS EFFORT TO BRING BACK FORMER DIRECTOR CHRISTOPHER LEITCH TO THE KANSAS CITY MUSEUM!!!

The only question is whether Mr. Leitch wants to enter the fray of (even worse) Kansas City politics now that the Museum is under City Hall control. Check the note of a decision some say is "imminent" and long awaited:

Re-instatement of Mr. Christopher Leitch as Director of Kansas City Museum

Mr. Mark McHenry
Kansas City Missouri Parks & Recreation

Dear Mark,

I am writing this morning to encourage you to re-instate Mr. Christopher Leitch as Director of Kansas City Museum, with all due speed. I believe I represent the full support of the Kansas City Museum Foundation as well.

You must know that the Department of Parks and Recreation, and the City of Kansas City, Missouri, could restore immeasurable public trust in Kansas City Museum by the simple act of re-appointing this vibrant and dynamic man as Director. It is what we have all tirelessly fought for these many months and we remain united under his -now volunteer- leadership.

The Kansas City Museum has not known a more passionate or effective leader for generations. Christopher’s energy and enthusiasm for the project are unequalled. His professional acumen is polished and sophisticated. He is an engaging personality who has drawn many to the Museum and who are eager to invest in its success, under Parks’ guidance.

Christopher’s innovative initiatives are applauded, especially his ability to solicit and engage a metropolitan wide diversity of peoples, neighborhoods and organizations including many historic organization partnerships which were not tied to the museum before. Other supporters include Nuestra Herencia and GLAMA organization, the Black Archives, the University of Missouri and the Westport Garden Club just to name a few His ability to inspire confidence and determination in staff and community alike make him an obvious and valuable choice for this role.

Lastly, I encourage you to contact the offices of the Mayor and City Manager of Kansas City, who have received 100's of recent communications from citizens across the metropolitan area eager to see the Museum continue to thrive under the leadership of Mr. Leitch.

Blows to momentum and bruises to public image are unavoidable during a time of governance change such as this. Fundraising is at stake.

Please contact me to discuss any details.

Best regards, Martha M. Lally
Chair, Board of Directors, Kansas City Museum Foundation
CC: Mr. Sly James, Mayor, City of Kansas City, MO
Mr. Troy Schulte, Manager, City of Kansas City, MO

  1. Sly could fuck up a two car parade but bringing back Christopher would perhaps win him a bit of support in the Northeast.

  4. The only question is whether Mr. Leitch wants to enter the fray by moving is residence to Kansas City. Why is one of Kansas's finest political residents writing a letter to influence the employment of another fine Kansas resident? Is this an attempt to circumvent city employment policy to further the selfish interests of the tax wasting museum? CL needs to move into town from the wheat state and pay his fair share of the tax dollars he wants to fritter away on his ego driven folly. Oh, wait a minute....If Bonner Springs, KS could get lucky, maybe the AG Hall of Fame will hire this guy so he can collect, preserve, and make accessible the documents and artifacts that reflect the history of the gay and lesbian agriculture community in Kansas. BRING GLAMA TO KANSAS.
