It has come to our attention this weekend that last minute mailings with scurrilous information have been sent to voters in the Hickman Mills School District. These mailings are reprehensible containing vicious accusations against several of the candidates in the race for school board.
Freedom Inc. has not participated in the production or distribution of this material and we condemn the actions of those responsible.
In the strongest terms possible, we deplore this type of negative campaigning. Freedom, Inc. has endorsed several candidates in area school board elections, as has many other organizations and groups. We have provided support to these candidates; however, the candidates are running their own individual campaigns. In the case of Hickman Mills, we have provided a monetary contribution. Freedom, Inc. has not campaigned in any manner for or against any specific candidate in the Hickman Mills School Board race. Moreover, our organization has not participated in any way in the illicit mailings described above.
Simply put, Freedom, Inc. does not condone this type of campaigning.
Our interest in the Hickman Mills School District only results from our concern for the children in a district that has been provisionally accredited and could face unaccredited status in the future.

Just curious as that story died down after the student and his father went back to the school and the student admitted making up the story.

I have worked for the government for 15 years and I know from personal experience that there is no way someone could work for the government and be in personal debt with them. Especially when it comes to taxes.
Isn't Mimms a State Rep? I highly doubt that she could be driving around with State Government plates and owe taxes on her vehicle. I checked some of those sources myself like anyone can, and that issue with a automotive creditor was 15 years ago and the court ruled in release of garnishment. Someone was seriously digging and has it out for these guys. When I saw that mailer on the news, it made me laugh. I wish I lived in that district so I could vote.

As a lifelong resident of the Hickman Mills district, it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out whom is behind those mailings. It is plainly obvious that it is the work of Freedom Inc. They did these same dirty smear campaign tactics in the KCPSD when they could not bully certain people to take orders in return for Freedom Inc support in the African American community. They have attempted to do the same for years in the Hickman Mills area, and had plans to get into Grandview, but had no such luck. Anyone reading between the lines would notice how these bonehead mailings full of crap are attacking the opposition (Karry Palmer, Bonnaye Mims, Dan Osman) of the candidates being supported by Freedom Inc (Breman Anderson, Tenisha Forte). It is completely transparent. I cannot wait to vote on today! I think Mims is making a mistake by stating she will leave it in the people's hands. Some of the younger voters in the district do not read the newspapers, they make decisions based upon the scandals that they view on the local news. I love councilman Sharp. I have been a supporter of his for over a decade. I am happy to see that he chimed in on this madness.

This nonsense has been going on long before Sly the Sneak was elected into office.This is more than a black/white thing, this is about a takeover. I could tell that something like this would happen in Hickman Mills when I noticed Freedom Inc migrating in that direction after having a huge hand in destroying the KCPSD.
