The KC Weekend According To Craig Glazer

TKC NOTE: Our pal Craig shares his weekend plans . . .

Brian Dunkleman:
Not Your Everyday American Idol

I first met Brian when he came to headline in Westport after his inaugural season hosting American Idol with Ryan Seacrest. Brian had just gotten back into stand-up. He had appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and several TV series as a guest star. Dunkleman expressed displeasure being on Idol and was already having run-ins with Seacrest. What Brian didn’t know was his contract would be extended through the summer where he would recap the show with Ryan. What happened after that only The Powers That Be know. Dunkleman felt he had many opportunities acting in both film and television. The Idol higher-ups may have just wanted to go with one on-stage host. Brian was the funny one, Seacrest had the All American boy good looks. All we know is Seacrest stayed and Brian went on to do Showtime specials, Tonight Show, My Name is Earl and starred in Celebrity Fit Club. Clearly, if Brian had it to do over again, he would still be on Idol.

What did happen is that Brian became a very strong stand-up comic. He began appearing as a guest on late night television. He worked the top comedy clubs in New York and LA. Brian has been a regular at Stanfords since 2002.

The talk is, he will host a reality game show this fall on Network TV. Dunkleman said, “It’s taken me a long time to get over the Idol craze. It doesn’t seem long ago that TMZ was following me all over LA and I was hanging out with Paula Abdul and other hosts of the show. Now that Idol’s become the most watched TV series of modern times, it’s kind of cool that I was once a part of it. The most asked question I get asked is ‘Is Ryan Seacrest Gay?’ He didn’t seem to complain too much when I was bangin’ him.” The truth is Dunkleman is happily married for eight years and he just recently had a baby boy. If you saw him on TV or heard him on the radio this week you know how funny he is. Very. See him tonight and tomorrow at Stanford and Sons at the Legends Shopping Center Showtimes are 7:45 pm and 9:45 pm nightly.
Next week, one of the biggest names in comedy Carlos Mencia; star of 3 HBO specials, ‘The Mind of Mencia’, and ‘The Heartbreak Kid’. Carlos is here Thursday through Saturday next week. Call (913) 400-7500 or go online at stanfordscomedyclub.com for tickets and more information.

  26. Hater Troll Also4/5/14, 10:52 AM

    Glazer is a snitch and worse yet a psychopath. Psychopaths lie pathologically to others about pretty much everything: their past, their present and their future. Whatever lies you discover about the psychopath in your life are likely to be just the tip of the iceberg. Be prepared for the sinking of the Titanic. More ominously, he could be presenting himself as a decent person while secretly committing fraud, serial rape or even murder. What you don’t know about him, along with the false information he offers you, can and will hurt you. He’s got no friends, just people he uses and alibis for his lies. Lying feeds his underlying narcissism. Distorting other people’s perception of reality gives him the false sense of being smarter than them. Since psychopaths wallow in seediness, cruelty and perversion, they enjoy not only lying, but also waving their lies under the noses of the people they dupe.
    Psychopaths enjoy lying both because of the power it gives them over others and because of the risk of getting caught. The problem remains, of course, that the risk is always minimal and therefore never quite thrilling enough. To take a real risk in life, one has to value something or someone, so that one fears losing that thing or that person. Psychopaths can’t value anything but their immediate appetites and anyone but themselves. If they lose their jobs, there’s always another one just as good (even when there isn’t). If they lose their money, they can always mooch off or scam someone else. If they alienate their partner, there’s lots of other fish in the sea. Since the stakes are always so low for psychopaths, their thrills are also very fleeting.
    When he gets away with a lie, he feels a cheap thrill. When caught in a lie, he feels no shame. He simply covers it up with another lie or, when that’s not an option, blames you for his wrongdoing or accuses you of behaving in the same manner or worse yet exhibits rages of anger.
    As we’ve seen, psychopaths lack the emotional and moral incentives that motivate normal people to improve themselves. No matter how much suffering they cause others and no matter how much they, themselves, get into trouble as a result of their lies, psychopaths remain pathological liars and frauds throughout their lives.
    why psychopaths don’t change their fraudulent ways:
    1) they don’t experience the pain and shame that motivates people to become honest;
    2) they don’t play by the rules and thus they never feel that they’ve done something wrong;
    3) they lack the emotional depth to want to improve their character;
    4) in their relentless search for excitement, they live to break, not follow, moral and social rules;
    5) they believe that they’re superior to those they dupe.
    I would add one more related point to this list:
    6) they believe that the rest of humanity is just like them, i.e., manipulative and deceitful, only less intelligent or less adept at it than they are. If anybody tells you a psychopath can become an honest, loyal and faithful individual, they’re lying to you. Which is also why the person most likely to tell someone such a lie is the psychopath himself: especially if he still has something to gain from his target.

  28. Hater Troll and Proud4/5/14, 1:15 PM

    LOLZ, I was over on KCC just before here catching up on the week’s stories since they only post like maybe 5 a week. What I see about the whole Glazer thing is simple. People won't say things to his face because they know him for the nut job he is. Glazer is eaten up with the anonymous posting because he wants to get revenge on people. He was all over Super Dave about a review he made on Amazon about his book over at KCC. You can’t be honest with Glazer, he can’t handle the truth nor does he want to see your opinion if it does not glorify him. I went to Amazon and read the comments on The King of Sting since I was bored looking for something to do here. Interesting reading it was, ok anyway Dave says this, “I have read this book at the urging of the author and to make matters worse see or hear about this author everyday. THis book is a sham and total lie for the most part. If people knew more about Craig Glazer they would never buy this book. I know I didn’t. Many great authors out there who will give you great reading I recommend you buy those books instead.”
    OK if that was my book I’d say well ok he didn’t like it, life goes on. Now another comment by, John Brown said, Most of this book is simply untrue. The so called "King of Sting" has pulled off one sting, and that is the publication of this book. I know Mr. Glazer. His story is a fabrication. If you don't believe me ask yourself this question, "How could someone who supposedly has screwed the people this guy claims to have screwed, and whose name is out there for all to see, be walking around unharmed today?" I mean really, give me a break. You don't rip off big time drug lords and get away with it. You don't rat out people and get away with it. The only way would be a quick trip to the Witness Protection Program and this dude ain't there.” Now that’s a review that makes you think for a minute. In fact it brings up some very good questions. Another commenter said, “Glazer's is a classic socio-pathologic personality. His narcissism, transferal of responsibility to others, and rationalizations for the havoc his actions wreaked on others is straight out of the textbook. Grudgingly, I give two stars: one for story content; one for chutzpah. On second thought, he inherited that, so make it one and a half stars. “
    Comment like that must have set Glazer off on a three week drunk. But one has to only look at the dates and the comments to figure out the scam ones. Sure there on a few who probably liked the book I myself have never read it. But you can see the theme in the reviews like you do here even in TKC of the Glazer is a great guy posts. It also appears that Glazer was popped again for fake posts on TKC. Hearne Christopher tries to come to Glazers defense as he does all the time but was as anyone could see a lame attempt.
    Glazer as the KC Star hates negative comments about what they have to say. If you make a negative comment you’re a hater. If you remind Glazer all the things people have said about him you’re a hater troll. Would I say those things to Glazers face hell no, the guy as anyone can see isn’t firing on all cylinders and can’t be trusted. If he was a normal person he wouldn’t have done or said the things he has. It’s very clear to see his demeanor would be to track these people down and get revenge on them. He’s not changed at all, he is still the criminal acting person he has been his whole life and isn’t going to change.
    What’s my opinion on the comments made in here on TKC at times? Yes some are rough, I over hear rude comments about people everywhere. People talk behind peoples back a lot of the time and speak the real truth. Whistle-blowers are protected for coming forward with the truth now. I see a lot of truth spoken on this blog and the normal bullshit. But the Freedom of Speech clause isn’t always there for the truth. I think these two lines from the movie A Few Good Men sums it all up, I want the truth! You can't handle the truth!
