Check The Kansas City Ruckus Last Night

Kansas City's best local chat show hosted some important election aftermath debate this week . . . Take a look at the latest episode of KCPT's Ruckus . . .

Topics include but aren't limited to:

- Kansas School Funding

- Gun Nullification Talk

- Golden Ghetto Sheriff Overtime

- GOP Convention Chatter

- Plaza Flash Mob Discussion wherein Steve Rose complained that he couldn't really say what was on his mind.

And of course Roasts & Toasts have always been a TKC Fave . . .

Comments

  1. When the conversation came around to the Plaza Flash mobs, Gwen Grant rejected Stgeve Rose and his idea of a 9 o'clock curfew. The idea of privatizing the Plaza so merchants could protect their business' from violent mobs of African American teenagers was also rejected.

I love the way Race Hustlers make excuses for intimidation and assaults on the Plaza, while expecting the tax base of the city to continue to support the liberal bullshit policies that erode and destroy the tax base.

Basically, with the exception of Steve Rose, the panel agreed that the continued presence of African American youth in large numbers will be disregarded and the situation will be dealt with by the police.

Gwen Grant, then gleefully, I mean GLEEFULLY, went on to state, and I am fucking quoting here, that "It is gonna happen again!"

The absolute insanity, of pretending that these groups of Afrimcan Americans are NOT destroying the tax base that supports MOST of the earned adn unearned income of those folks from the East Side, in conjuction with the insistance that that tax base be destroyed in order to continue a narrative of lies and concomitant violence is just fucking insane.

  2. We are 50 years and 2 to 3 generations into a movement based on what we must as reasonable people, imagine are transgenerational unrightable wrongs that know no scenesence. The middle class, economic arms and legs, ripped from their bodies, are no more than floatation devices for the Grievance Industry’s rogues and mountbanks who have no need to swim. Those now heuristically aware of reality who speak against the message, or the “Narrative” are guilty of apostacy and treated in accord with their ignominious status. Deception is part and parcel of the “Narrative” which, in the face of the unambiguated failure of MLK’s message at this late date, drives us further and further down the river towards the noise of a waterfall.

We deceive ourselves at the mention of a low level infatada of black on white crime. We deceive ourselves to the disticnt lack of acceleration in the African American community in spite of trillions of dollars spent to “Even the Playing Field.” We deceive ourselves and pretend that African Americans are not teathered to mediocrity by Affirmative Action legislation, that, after 50 years dilineates by it’s very existance the presupposition of inferiority. Our preconceived affectation to a commitment based on a “Marching with Martin” trope, romanticized through the years, the decades has left African Americans stranded on that flotation device with the rest of us, unable to stop the self deception as we get closer to the falls.

The "Sell by date" on Civil Rights legislation, Affirmative Action and ALL efforts to "Equal The Playing Field" at the expense of evil white people has come and gone.

Repeal all Civil Rights Legislation and stop the insanity that dumbs down standards for our nation in every venue, education, civility, crinimality and most of all expectations that relate to the social contract.

  7. These comments are right on the money.
    Which raises the question:
WHO exactly does Gwen Grant represent and why is she given a weekly platform by a television station that's financially supported by the public?
It would be hard to find someone more arrgoant, selfish, and counterproductive to a healthy community than she is.
Are these cowards that easily intimidated?

  8. She's just another grafter...got her hand out, and thinks she deserves it!!! LOSER!

  9. I am SO SICK of this being called a race issue. It just so happens that when this happens it ALL BLACK youth causing the issue on the Plaza.

This would be THE SAME issue if it were hordes of mexicans or Asians or whatever. But it's black youth doing this.

There's nothing wrong with calling a spade a spade. I'm a black male and I recognize the issue at hand here.

Now Gwen Grant and a host of minority leaders can sit here and cry race all they want. It doesn't change the fact. And they always want to point the finger at bad parenting, lack of activities, blah, blah, blah. Yet none of them want to present any viable solutions to what they say. What is their solution to bad parenting? What is their solution to lack of activities? (btw, I don't believe it's the city's responsibility to "entertain" the youth).

They have no solution. I don't think the year round curfew is the magic bullet, so to speak. But for now, until people come up with something better, it's a good place to start.

I agree with Steve, no 15 year old has ANY business on the Plaza, un-chaperoned, after a certain time. Not even for the movies or McDonalds or whatever.

I think the year round curfew needs to happen. And I think whoever breaks said curfew needs to be arrested AND their parents face STIFF fines for their child/children's actions. And if they don't pay the fines they get arrested too.

Something DRASTIC has to be done or, at some point, what happened to Bannister Mall and India Springs will start to happen on the Plaza. Now, I know no one wants that.

  12. Chuck, damn dude. You need to take a break. Go over to KCC and write a Glazer suck up comment. Your head has to be spinning after throwing out two comments like that. Wow.

I have to argee with you 100% though. Your dead right. Steve Rose was the only person on the program that made sense.

  13. Gwen Grant is a grifter of the highest order. She stated there are many places on the Plaza that serve food and non-alcoholic beverages. Hell, I have more money than I can ever spend (do I sound like Glazer) yet I seldom eat/drink on the Plaza.

The Plaza certainly is not a place for 13-18 year olds. You can poll the businesses there and it will come back 100%. None want their business. While one of these kids spends $25.00 they run off a dozen customers that would spend $200.00. Even Gwen Grant can do that math.

I have a number of disagreements with Ms. Gwen Grant on local issues; in particular, I think that she has a lot of wrong-headed ideas on the reasons for the ongoing crime surge in the black neighborhoods of KCMO. But she has done a lot for our city, and it is most unfair to call her a "grifter". We are never going to make progress on our city's problems until we stop the vicious, ad hominem way public debates are now conducted. Take care. Sincerely, Respectfully and In Christ, Ernest Evans

  16. Why is that slimy, black bitch Grant, still on this program? Is everybody afraid to remind her that she's a nigger and nothing else? Hey Gwen, go look into that shiny surface, in the bathroom....That's you coon!

Dear 1:51 PM: I realize that the things Ms. Grant says are often upsetting to a lot of people, and I, too, wish that she would not say such harsh things. But you should not say things like you said in your posting about any of God's children. Sincerely, Respectfully and In Christ, Ernest Evans
