CELEBRATE THE KANSAS CITY FILM COMMISSION INSPIRATIONAL MISSION STATEMENT: WE MUST CREATE!!!

Again, my picky TKC pet peeve here is that NOBODY SHOOTS ON FILM ANYMORE . . . So, from the start Kansas City is behind the curve and using old terminology when it comes to attracting the new wave of digital movie production. It would be more appropriate to reference CINEMA which is the kind of big and/or and atrsy productions this cowtown wants to attract.

Anyhoo . . .

From the new Kansas City Film Commission website . . .

CELEBRATE THE INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE FROM KANSAS CITY'S NEWLY FUNDED FILM COMMISSION!!!

Note to TKC: Memorize this pitch and repeat to lady friend so that she'll star in my dirty "independent" mobile phone movie . . .

We Must Create

"We must create. It’s how we define new philosophies and values, and how original ideas are born. It’s how we inspire those around us. It’s how we express our identity. So what’s your vision? Even if it was just a dream long ago, you dreamt it so it’s meaningful.

"Kansas City has shown to be a city filled with creators and dreamers. We are both artists and an audience. Support for the arts community is leading various organizations to higher grounds and presenting better opportunities to cultivate the city’s economic and cultural developments. With a new city-funded film office, prospects are becoming more realistic for professionals within the production industry. Now it is time to leverage the excitement about Kansas City’s artistic power. Be a creator. Resources are becoming more accessible. Audiences are anticipating new work.

"Believe in the possibilities that make ideas come to life. Kansas City filmmakers, writers, editors, photographers, designers, actors, make-up artists….now is the time to embrace your potential. Digital media, film, TV, radio, print, live theatre… all are platforms waiting for you to take stage. Recent Kansas City Star Article written by Lynn Horsley With funds restored, Kansas City’s film office will roll again… provides details about the NEW film office.

  6. More Kansas City ignorance.

  7. We subsidize film, tourism, technology and whatever else every other city in the country was doing last year. Meanwhile any business making a profit, hiring employees and paying taxes is hounded to death by the incompetents at the Revenue Division.

  8. Enjoy making yer porno, Tony! Remember to hold the phone steady. Don't shake!

  9. Hopefully future statements won't be so full of Crossroads-art-cheer leading BS.
And agreed about the peeve. The office should be called the Kansas City Motion Picture Commission.
