"There’s an uptick in break-ins — both homes and cars. And neighbors have had enough. They’ve agreed to watch out for each other. Someone even spray painted a message for the crooks in the middle of the street.
"It reads, “No more break-ins. We’re watching you.”
As much as people admire this kind of bravado (from a distance) . . . Street justice and cryptic messages to doesn't encourage confidence in this town's ability to battle crooks.

That's lame. Basically it's trashing up the neighborhood to stop crime. That won't work.
ReplyDeleteA city of 310 square miles requires sufficient police. We have had nearly enough for years... and now were down officers, there's a civilian force hiring freeze, and summer coming up. Priorities City priorities... a streetcar can't arrest anyone.
