The weather was just a bit warmer this weekend and tragically, it seems that the season of murder is starting again.
And what's more troubling this year is that mainstream media and some of our elected officials are using the homicide count for political gain and to push local control rather than engage the community on the best way to prevent crime.
Report:
Shortly before 2 AM this morning, KCPD officers were dispatched to a local hospital in regard to a shooting victim arriving. The victim, a H/M in his 20s, had been transported by an acquaintance to the hospital. The victim was pronounced dead a short time later. At this time the location or any further circumstances of the incident are unknown.

Unofficially, that's 12 murders so far this year compared with 19 at this time last year.

ReplyDeleteYou would be surprised how often this happens and is never reported so murder numbers are probably actually higher than reported. Usually a black male gets dropped (kicked out of car) and a 1982 Caprice Classic is seen speeding away. Anyways, supposed to warm up the next couple of days so there will probably be more.

ReplyDeleteDear Mr. Tony: Thanks for posting this info. In all of February 2014 we had one homicide, it is March 9 and in March 2014 we have already had three homicides. As it does it other cities, extremely cold winters hold down the homicide stats: In NYC in February 2014 there were 14 homicides vs. 27 homicides in February 2013.
