Steve Rose saying anything should be illegal.
ReplyDeleteAn EXTREMELY wishy-washy argument against marijuana legalization by Mr. Rose!!!
ReplyDeleteHe spends a lot of time informing the reader about his "personal" experiences: college, Vietnam, Woodstock, close friends, etc., to the point where we begin to believe the article is about himself and not marijuana.
After giving examples of his own hypocrisy (alcohol, college professor friend, etc.) he sticks to his original assertion that it's "too risky" to legalize marijuana. Mr. Rose you presented a very poor case for your viewpoint, and we're holding you in contempt of public court.
I can't stand smoking the stuff, but I have so many friends who have smoked it their whole lives. Only one seemed to have adverse affects.
ReplyDeleteAlchohol, are you kidding?? What a disaster.
Rose makes some good points, but talk is just talk. It will be legalized and probably should be, if, for no other reason, then in crinimalizes a HUGE portion of our population, which in turn, trivializes our attitudes towards law enforcement and rules of law in general.
I just can't stand the shit.

ReplyDeleteYou fortunately have apparently never met Mr. Rose, or you would know that pretty much everything is all about him.
He and Duiguid should write columns together so that readers would have to suffer just once.
Rose could write about how everything he ever knew about issues comes from pollsters and Duiguid could treat us yet one more time to a story about his prostate.
You have to admit it would make quite a story!
I'm far more interested in Axel Rose's opinion on the issue.
ReplyDeleteA Damn shame people in Missouri are two lazy to vote. Then perhaps we might get a few things the tax payers actually want besides being screwed.
ReplyDeleteI've seen Swiss cheese that had less holes than mr roses argument on this one. Seeing those age stats to me indicates we should start thinking about having a maximum voting age, at least on social issues like this.

ReplyDeleteSeriously tho, get me a handle of vodka and a gram of weed, and I'll try them and let you know which one makes me feel more likely to be a danger to society.
ReplyDeleteFuck Steve Rose dead up his worthless ass ~ WEED NOW !
ReplyDeleteWhat a pair --- Steve Rose and Nany Reagan.
ReplyDeleteJust Say No to both of them!
We know Nancy's children experimented with drugs. I'll bet Mr. Rose's children have as well.
Cage fight : Steve Rose vs Glazer, no blows barred.
ReplyDeleteYeah they'll blow each other
Delete6:00 makes you think Craig Glazer doesn't it ?
ReplyDeleteShit! When that jew figures out how he can make a buck off of the stuff, he'll be all for it.
ReplyDeleteSteve Rose and Craig Glazer two Jewish boys who if it wasn't for their fathers would today be working at WalMart or Jiffy Lube, Glazer would be driving a little Hyundai about 15 years old, beat all to shit while sporting a bald spot on his head.
ReplyDeleteThat was some funny shit ..
ReplyDeleteLol! Steve and his demon weed argument. Looking out for the kids I see.
ReplyDeleteI bought my first bag when I was 13. Pot was illegal then as it is now.
Fwiw Steve-O, the War on Drugs is over. Drugs won.
The War On Drugs is the War On The Poor People Of America.
ReplyDeleteI think what Steve was trying to say is "Let's just wait a while." I believe in irony, and the irony is that there is a certain percentage of the population who would outlaw tobacco (Hell, they are trying to outlaw e-cigarettes). But let's just plunge right in on smoking weed. This makes no sense.
ReplyDeleteWe shouldn't be smoking anything. In the 1950's, cigarettes were advertised a "healthy". Do you think that weed is healthy? Think again.
Risky for spoiled rich boy whose daddy owned a newspaper. Safe enough for the rest of us. Nothing worse than a FAKE libertarian.
ReplyDeleteSmoking anything in excess, even hams, is unhealthy. Lumping weed into class 3 narcotics like cocaine and heroin which actually do kill people by causing over doses, and implying that weed is more dangerous than alcohol due to legality is the true danger to public health.
