News-leader: State senator chooses against running for re-election
STL Post-Dispatch: Nieves withdrew his papers this afternoon, following a 1,600-word Facebook post this weekend hinting that he might do just that.
Mahoney Blog: In his Facebook post, he endorsed House Speaker Tim Jones, R-Eureka, to run for the primary. Jones is term limited out of his position.
Remember that State Sen. Nieves is the mastermind behind Missouri Fed Nullification efforts on firearms and his opt-out is only important to Kansas city inasmuch as it reveals that backwater Missouri politicos are just as directionless as many of their urban core counterparts.
Always glad to see people leave the political class for the productive class.
