RAYGUN OPEN IN KANSAS CITY CROSSROADS RIGHT NOW!!!

Raygun adds Kansas City to their growing empire today.

We were lucky enough to talk to owner MIKE DRAPER recently and discovered the he's smart, a bit of a smart-ass and very dedicated to actually following a great deal of the grassroots principles espoused but not totally followed-thru by most other companies i.e. Whole Foods.

What you should know about Ray Gun . . .

- 99.% of their stuff is American-made.

- Their store will serve as a bit of a Midwestern hub for fashionistas and artists who might be able to sell their merch in other Ray Gun shops.

- Raygun is probably one of the few places in the Crossroads that doesn't look at selling out as a goal and they vow to stay in the Midwest.

REALLY Like this George Brett t-shirt . . . Owner Mike Draper flippantly said he expects to get a letter on it any day . . .

Ray Gun is a pretty big deal and reveals Crossroads fashionistas are stepping into the big time as a destination.

Here's our favorite quote from Mr. Draper . . .

"We try to use as many local suppliers as possible because it's good to keep money in the community, and at the same time, as Gandhi said, and I try to compare myself to Gandhi as much as possible . . . 'Be the change you want to see.' If you want to see more American made stuff, more local stuff. Somebody at some point has to start doing that . . ."

Here's a brief interview we conducted with Mr. Draper.

Raygun is open now in the KCMO Crossroads but their big Grand Opening Kick-Off is First Friday April 4th.

  1. "Kansas City is a great town and I just fucking love the Bar B Que"

    -Ghandi

Ok, he never said that, but I do think he loved the burnt ends at Jack's Stack. I saw a guy there once who looked just like him from Sprint. He had a little dot on his forehead and I pointed to it and said, "Hey fucker! Don't use all that hot sauce!!"

  6. Ghandi gave away all his money so he could fight for the oppressed as one of them.

This clown has a lot a nerve comparing himself to the real deal.
