"For years, community activists on the east side have said the reason for the violence at the Country Club Plaza was a product of having nowhere for area youth to congregate. Well last week, they had a place to congregate and they still shot it up. Wow! Go figure. Here’s a thought. Instead of dancing around the terms “gun grab” or “gun confiscation”, or saying the state legislature needs to “work with us” on ridding the city’s streets of guns, how about targeting the parents of these reprobates who seem intent on wreaking havoc in public places?"

ReplyDeleteThe chances of the Missouri legislature passes any restrictions on gun ownership is ZERO and Sly and anybody else pushing this "solution" to what is a behavior problem knows that perfectly well and is just looking for yet another excuse not to address the real issue.
ReplyDeleteSo now Sly is depending on yet another program from out of town, gun legislation that is not going to happen, and spending even more money on entertainment.
You really have to be heavily into the KoolAid to beleive that building a streetcar is going to make downtown "world class" when even the vast majority of residents in the metro already avoid it.
Facts can be hidden by fluff only so long.

ReplyDeleteThey have a 16 year old kid in custody who had a gun at the zoo. I understand he was already on probation. Here's what you do to stop the gun violence, folks. Try him as an adult and put him away for a good long time. Make an example of the little POS.
ReplyDeleteThe pinheads who run city government in Kansas City, Missouri REALLY think the solution to “TEEN” violence is to confiscate legally held firearms?!? I guess that might be a solution because if you take all the guns, the “TEENS” would have nothing to steal. Then again, the “TEENS” would have to use machetes in their home invasions because there would be an increase in home invasions because none of the homeowners would have weapons to defend themselves.
