New York Times: Republicans From the West Give Support for Gay Marriage

Money quote: Former Senator Nancy L. Kassebaum of Kansas, who said last year that she had reconsidered her former opposition to same-sex marriage. The document says that “marriage is strengthened” and “the social stability of the family unit are promoted” by allowing gay and lesbian couples to marry.

  1. Senator. Thank you for your continued compassion. Are you interested in saving Kansas? We need a new Governor! Please!

  2. There are too many poorly educated bigoted hate filled people in Kansas for it to be saved. Unless you are blue eyed and blond it is advisable to leave Kansas before the lynching begins.

  3. Senility aint pretty Faggots can suck dog dick for all we care but until one impregnates another in the rectum, marriage is for baby makers.

This shouldn't be shocking at all. Nancy is a hard core
Episcopalian and her church I'm sure had a lot to do with the changing of her mind. Today the Church calls for the full civil equality of gay and lesbian people, and the church's General Convention has passed resolutions that allow for same-sex marriages in states in which it is legal. The convention also approved an official liturgy to bless such unions. On the question of abortion, the church has adopted a "nuanced approach". Plus the fact she is in her eighties now and probably not firing on all cylinders anymore.

  5. Oh, 9:13, you're so Kansas. Lots of gay people have children. Where have you been the past couple hundred years?
